The White House and top Trump Administration officials are in full-blown gaslight mode over what may be the most staggering national security blunder in recent memory—and they’re betting on the public being too distracted or too cynical to care.
Point to ponder. My guess is that they appear as heroes in their dreams, which is simply perpetuating the lies they tell while they are awake, so yes, they lie in their sleep too.
All of them. The truth is what Trump says it is - not what they see, or hear, or experience themselves. They will pay $15 for 12 eggs and believe AT THE SAME TIME that Trump is lowering prices. It’s a special kind of mental gymnastics they’ve learned to do.
Absolutely true. And you can bet that if Biden did HALF of what the Trump admin has done in the past two weeks, there'd be hell to pay. This is exhausting and demoralizing. I guess it doesn't pay to be a decent person anymore ??
He’s done national security a service by keeping certain details he felt were too sensitive out of the reporting. They repay him by trying to disparage him instead of admitting fault.
Except when we download their BS on a thumb drive and send it to a reliable journalist. Save for prosperity. For the trials to come. We demand nothing less than hanging. Just like they are trying to make us lose everything we worked so hard for, sacrificed for, threatening the lives of our children, trying to starve us out.
All is still fair in love and war so to speak. As a journalist, he does have a duty to report. And gee, if stuff can be "leaked" to the media, the details of all things discussed in the thread is fair game.
I respectfully disagree. I think of the Atlantic as an excellent publication. I think Jeffrey Goldberg has been compliant with his 'duty to report', while simultaneously having the wisdom to not leak anything about the situation.
Goldberg’s done well. When they kept saying again and again in the hearing that there was “ nothing to see here” ( ie no classified info), he took the at their word and called their bluff. That takes courage as I am sure he and the Atlantic have now risen to the top of their s**t list. A lovely “gotcha” moment…
Not only that, they were trying to hide the chat by using Signal, which erases texts after a certain amount of time. People must be held accountable. This is dangerous for the American people and our service members. This administration is out of control. All of it.
I'm deeply concerned for the men, women and families of the military. Ultimately, they report to the president, and therefore take an oath not to speak ill of the president. I would never have the restraint they are expected to have.
A lot of them are pissed at what they see but from their training, they are able to restrain themselves. I don’t see it going much longer from what happened yesterday to family members get stripped of Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security.
This is beyond anything done ever. Period. Time to remove this administration in handcuffs, along with trump loyalists, judges and other appointees. End 2025. Jail the Heritage Foundation and it's source of money!
Hegseth, Waltz, et al swear nothing classified was in the "chat." Well then, Jeffrey Goldberg and The Atlantic are free to publish the entire chat. Right?
Project 2025 instructs them to use less secure forms of communication because the messages "disappear," so there's no record of their crimes. There is more here than stupidity and incompetence — devious malevolence.
Oh boy--did not know that. Can you perhaps find where it says that as I would like to pass that info on and don't want to pass on undocumented info if I can help it....
I don’t care if the GOP vote no. I want the articles filed each week and let the GOP constituents see the cowards they elected into office every single time!
Let's also not gloss over the fact that what was being discussed was a unilateral military action that Stephen Miller was advising be used to 'extract' wealth from the European public. That is to say, using the US military to extort protection money for protection that wasn't requested.
If their mouths are open, they are lying. It’s all they do. If you’re looking for honesty out of this regime, you’re not ever going to find it.
Good point to remember: "if their mouths are open, they are lying." I snorted.
I’d say they’re only lying when they’re awake, but honestly, I’m not sure they don’t lie in their dreams too.
They lie so much it is in their dreams. They internalize the lie until they believe.
Point to ponder. My guess is that they appear as heroes in their dreams, which is simply perpetuating the lies they tell while they are awake, so yes, they lie in their sleep too.
I would be just as outraged if it had been Biden's administration to do this, or anyone else's. It's not about sides, it's about competency.
Agreed. It's absolutely shocking. And to watch them try to gaslight us and put the blame on the reporter is, quite frankly, a new low.
The thing is; how many of his supporters will believe the spin?
His supporters still believe trump doesn't shit his pants. So there ya go!
All of them. The truth is what Trump says it is - not what they see, or hear, or experience themselves. They will pay $15 for 12 eggs and believe AT THE SAME TIME that Trump is lowering prices. It’s a special kind of mental gymnastics they’ve learned to do.
A new low is right.
It's also about our safety.
Absolutely true. And you can bet that if Biden did HALF of what the Trump admin has done in the past two weeks, there'd be hell to pay. This is exhausting and demoralizing. I guess it doesn't pay to be a decent person anymore ??
Not to them.
I agree with you! It should not be a partisan issue!
EXACTLY!!!!
Well since none of it was classified, they’ll have no issue with the journalist making public the entire text thread without redactions.
He’s done national security a service by keeping certain details he felt were too sensitive out of the reporting. They repay him by trying to disparage him instead of admitting fault.
Absolutely! Thankfully, he is a man of integrity and character. Imagine if they fell into hands that could have exploited or sold the information!
Deep down, I want to believe that everyone realizes that -- even if they won't admit it.
It’s their MO
Sadly, the second he would do that he would be thrown in jail

ooo--I hope he offers to do just that....

Yes, please!
How many times will we have to say “if this happened to ANY OTHER ADMINISTRATION “ it’s ridiculous.
Not only that, they were trying to hide the chat by using Signal, which erases texts after a certain amount of time. People must be held accountable. This is dangerous for the American people and our service members. This administration is out of control. All of it.

HEY LEAVITT SHUT THE FUCK UP! EVERYTIME YOU OPEN YOUR HOLE NOTHING BUT NONSENSE AND LIES FLOW OUT!
This is beyond anything done ever. Period. Time to remove this administration in handcuffs, along with trump loyalists, judges and other appointees. End 2025. Jail the Heritage Foundation and it's source of money!
“I don’t know anything about it” Amazing he doesn’t know what’s going on with his appointees! Gaslighting us is putting it nicely.
Hegseth, Waltz, et al swear nothing classified was in the "chat." Well then, Jeffrey Goldberg and The Atlantic are free to publish the entire chat. Right?
They literally cannot stop lying. This administration is pathological, and it's hard to believe NOTHING is being done.
Exactly what am *I* supposed to do about it when it seems like no one on the left or right is doing anything? It’s so stupid.

True dat
TY!
I want to know why impeachment articles are not being filed against all of them including the President!!!
Because, like the first articles of impeachment in 2016, the cowardly GOP members in congress wouldn't go thru with it.
I don’t care if the GOP vote no. I want the articles filed each week and let the GOP constituents see the cowards they elected into office every single time!
because.....Republicans.
cos too many r's in the house and it would never fly.
Quite frankly I am just dumbfounded at their incompetence.
I'm not - I watched the confirmation hearings... :-(
I expected nothing less.
How many other conversations have been outside the secure protocol?
Exactly.
GKWELLS, ALL of them.
Let's also not gloss over the fact that what was being discussed was a unilateral military action that Stephen Miller was advising be used to 'extract' wealth from the European public. That is to say, using the US military to extort protection money for protection that wasn't requested.
Absolutely insanity from the department of clowns 🤡
It's truly not a clown show anymore....
