Elon Musk has caused a rift to emerge within the federal government as agencies instruct their employees to ignore him, Yosemite National Park workers raise distress flag in protest of DOGE, and more.

With that, here is all the news you missed:

  • Elon Musk’s directive to have employees submit a five point bullet point list of what they did over the past week has caused chaos within the federal government as employees were not told that a failure to respond would lead to their ultimate resignation, even though Musk’s tweet said the opposite.

  • Musk’s directive is now causing an internal rift within federal agencies. Both the FBI and State Department have directed their employees not to respond to the email. In addition, other intelligence agencies are expected to direct their employees to do the same.

  • Meanwhile, the United States Attorney for the District of Columbia is actively embracing Musk’s directive and instructing his employees to respond to the email, even though the attorneys have access to confidential information.

  • Yosemite National Park employees raise a 'distress flag' in protest against DOGE cuts to government spending, according to SFChronicle.
