Trump deported someone legal and there is nothing we can do to get him back? This is literally unacceptable.

I want to scream. I don't know what to do with the rage that is running through my body. The absolute GROSS MISCONDUCT AND EVIL of this administration. If they can't, what can we the people do to bring him home? I'm in.

This should be STOPPED immediately.

They aren’t competent enough to take anyone to that prison… SO many reasons…

but this is WHY DUE PROCESS is the LAW.

This man’s name should be brought up to every republican, Marco Rubio, Noem, press secretary, and don’t back down. Keep questioning. This makes my stomach turn. There will be many more names. This is unacceptable. Bukele is coming for a White House visit, shout out a question to him regarding this situation.

I feel like a judge ordering Trump to bring him back is the only thing that can save him. I hope his family has retained a lawyer

Technically he’s a hostage and they’ve been able to get hostages back in the past.

Why are we not talking about Trump deporting someone legal and saying there is no way to get them back to the United States. This is literally unacceptable

I would love to know if there are people working on getting him back anyway. There HAS to be hope somewhere

I do not have much hope. Trump and his admin could give a fig about anyone but themselves.

I know I know. I don’t think there’s any hope for his administration to do anything because we are throw away people to them, but maybe somewhere there’s people who can. 😭

I would want to ask Sen Booker, but you may already know the answer, if it’s possible to have sequential filibusters and if so, why not organize Dems so they can keep it going?

Expand full comment
Eri's avatar

I’ve been watching, and it looks like they have organized other members to ask questions, which give Booker a break and help him to have things to talk about. I’m not sure about sequential filibusters but it does look like there is some organization happening with this among other members of Congress.

The USA is paying $20,000 per inmate to the El Salvadorian prison. Those unjustly imprisoned costs the American people the same $20,000 regardless of their innocence. This is illegal, immoral, unethical, and unAmerican. For Trump to declare that he has no power to bring back men who he himself imprisoned and paid for is ludicrous at best and a total exposure of what weakness in leadership means.

Joanna Giddings's avatar

Exactly! Mr. “Art of the Deal“ negotiated an arrangement where controlling jurisdiction over the prisoner is not included in the fee?

You would think El Salvador would be very willing to pocket the $20,000 and toss Kilmar Garcia out the door.

Oh wait--that isn't a good photo op, is it?

You are the president of the United States, you put him there use that power you talk about to get him and others back... Otherwise, you are just a fraud, and clown, a hypocrite, weak ass man!!! God have mercy on your soul. God bless Cory Booker for fighting for all of us.

Thank you, Senator Cory Booker, for highlighting the lawless actions of the Trump administration that are currently being overlooked. The U.S. Supreme Court has allowed Trump to operate without accountability!

By the way, this is not a filibuster; it is Senator Booker raising public awareness about the corruption occurring within the administration!

Impeachment requires a majority vote in the House, but removal requires 2/3 vote in the Senate. Removal has yet to happen in the history of our nation.
