Every day I wake up hoping that it happened overnight. Someday.

Peter Stein's avatar

You and me both. I'm not particularly religious, but I guess you could call it praying!

Juno's avatar

Put that energy out there !

He is the mouth of the beast. The beast will live without an mouth. The problem is larger than 🍊.

Dividend check be damned. That’s OUR MONEY!!!! We worked all our lives paying that in as did our employers. Now Trump and Musk are going to just steal it bc they can.

Hell No. it’s time they go to prison and stay there along with Vance & Johnson.

Cathy A's avatar

And the idiot magas will think it's great!

Kim Murray's avatar

I hope they don’t send checks because all of the MAGAs will love that!!! 😡

Common sense's avatar

The biggest threat to our democracy isn’t Trump or Vance. It’s the project 2025 people he put in place in the administration. Russ Voight has been planning this for a long time and the misinformation wagon for the last 10 years has fueled the winds of change for the worse.

It will get to the point where the last option will be the only option and the question becomes who will actually do it. Courts can rule against him, but with Voight and Bondi confirmed by the criminal republicans are now in full control. And when the last option presents itself, Pete Hesgeth will be asked to do his part which is why none of them answered the questions when being confirmed. “Will you disobey an order given by the President”. Silence speaks volumes.

Kathey Hunt's avatar

That's right. We are in an avalanche on a step slope gaining horrifying momentum.

Kathey Hunt's avatar

Dividend check from the "waste and fraud" they "save" by firing professional employees from agencies as diverse as nuclear management, bird flu epidemic management, the national park service, and the IRS? And make new complicit in their "cost savings" while those people are unemployed for no good reason? Hell no.

That Woman's avatar

Also ut seems if it's done it will only be to certain income levels Not everyone. Depends on taxes paid.

Margo Espino's avatar

Why is this even being allowed to continue?!!! None of this is looks good ! Can’t people see what’s happening!??

Cathy A's avatar

It's sad! My brother didn't even vote and is a die hard Maga. He doesn't even see what's going on, and all he does is get on my ass when I try to tell him.

I was shocked he finally told me he didn't vote! Just a few days ago to. No vote no voice!

I decided not to engage with it anymore. He's my brother and I love him but he's so far gone with trump. I have better things to do! Thank you for the encouraging words!

My sister too. We have agreed to never discuss it to maintain a relationship. Well I basically told her that if she wants to continue a relationship with me she is to keep her crazy to herself. She agreed. It works for us. I love my sister dearly and to all of you who have a MAGA loved one, don't let them, MAGA, ruin your relationships. They want the divide and I feel like this is something I can control in this crazy world to not be divided from my loved ones. Don't talk about it. They will see it, eventually. It may not be until they're punched in the face with all that will happen, but they will see it. Keep loving them and don't talk about it. ❤️

Aaron is our prime example. He’s open about his history with the right. His dad and how he was abandoned by his “friends” in politics. When the curtain finally fell for Aaron and he saw for himself how they are as people, politicians, and how they treat people, etc. He was in it deep and now has flipped. It’s the cult of it all and it’s so hard to self reflect and truly question your beliefs and ideals. To break down everything you’ve ever been told or promised. When you have to stop and unpack everything you were raised to think leaves you vulnerable. People are hurt though. People will be hurt in this regime. It’s hard to look at loved ones and think they truly want this. They don’t. Most don’t. But the cult of it all like some religions means they have to reflect on their own behavior. Nobody wants to admit to themselves, especially to others, that they were duped and lied to.

Cathy A's avatar

Everytime I even comment on like my cousins post he butts right in. It's so annoying! So I decided not to respond anymore.

A lot of people are asking this question. And what can be done. That is the most frustrating thing - at this moment, short of vigilantism, we can't do anything personally. We can support judges and organizations that are working with the lawsuits on our behalf. So, Indivisible, ACLU, etc. We can support candidates that could make a difference in other states - there are special elections for various seats. That's it. That's all we can do right now.

We know GOP-majority Congress won't do anything. We know protests have no impact on this administration - they literally won't care if we all froze to death out there. So.... our options are limited.

Kathey Hunt's avatar

Google for ways to resist in your area. There is resistance going on.

Gigi's avatar

We should be able to fire and remove the traitors in our Congress!!

Mrzcus's avatar

Until republican senators realize they have no power anymore and it’s all about Elon and trump. They’ll be licking those boots from heel to toe daily.

Sarah Dee's avatar

Elon sending $5,000 to all US citizens definitely feels like bribery

Janice Darling's avatar

It IS bribery which the stupid will tout as love from their vile cult leader. It’s just like during the ps Demi’s—buy their loyalty, toss them “paper towels”. If they are supposed to be saving money let it bring down the debt which is what they keep bellyaching about.

That Woman's avatar

It should pay down debt but I'm betting it will go to ensure rich get their tax cuts instead.

SRae's avatar

I’d like to know where these “savings” are that they are finding.

Jean Jones's avatar

It's like 8 million dollars. not billion.

Peter Stein's avatar

Do the math - $5,000 to each (tax-paying?) American times what, 154 million Americans is $770,000,000,000. Where is that money coming from? And if it is being paid to every American, that number will double.

Common sense's avatar

Believe it or not, tax paying citizens does include migrants. Unlike the right wanting you to believe that they are a leech on our tax system, they pay into it and receive no social benefit cause they have no SS#. Will they get it too?

Peter Stein's avatar

I wouldn't hold your breath.

Common sense's avatar

Yeah, I know. Was kinda rhetorical.

MrsCQ's avatar

Exactly - it is coming from somewhere and somehow I think it is coming from us - and that's IF they do it

Peter Stein's avatar

A shell game (though big shells). While a check for $5k would be nice, not at this cost to our country. These crooks have to be stopped.

Lisa Blake's avatar

Yep. It's to make then think Trump is great. Ugh!

NAR483's avatar

Agreed. I think he's saying that because of all the protests and boycotting happening. He's hoping some of us take it and shut up. All the pushing back we're doing is starting to show cracks in the administration. I think this is might be a small teeny positive thing.

Pmschnapps's avatar

Exactly like bribery!!!!!!

Suzanne's avatar

I don't understand any part of it & I would never accept money from them. I cannot be bought!

That Woman's avatar

Wont be to all. Research it. Will be to certain income levels and depend on taxes paid.

MrsCQ's avatar

Where is the $5000 coming from?

Sarah Dee's avatar

Supposedly all the funding for staff and programs that were cut by doge

Randi's avatar

Everyday I continue to ask, what the fck is he doing. Is he going to just sign executive orders for the next 4 years that are inevitably destroying America? This is literally insane. I’m so sick of this narcissistic little man.

Marc Lemery's avatar

I'm no smarter than anyone else but I've been saying all along that trump isn't going anywhere in 4 years. He's changing the system with no regard whatsoever for the constitution and will be staying as president/king/dictator for years to come. He's not smart enough to think of this but he is the mouthpiece they have chosen to execute the plan.

Dawn Snodgrass's avatar

Trump is the patsy, they are making him do all of the dirty work and then in a year they will get rid of him and we will have Vance for the next 3 terms. Unless we actually start serious pushback on all of this we are cooked and some of this will be unfixable.

Justin Tosch's avatar

Trump is a fat old man. It'd be shocking he lives past 82.

Suzanne's avatar

Everyday I wish for an obituary!

Warrior4Justice's avatar

Some folx are starting to do some serious witchcraft. Just sayin'...

Kathey Hunt's avatar

It won't matter since Vance is WORSE!!!

Stephanie's avatar

They’ll weekend at Bernie’s him for as long as they effing can. He’s already halfway there

Pmschnapps's avatar

I have said this multiple times!!!!

Kathey Hunt's avatar

Get on Amazon and order a copy of project 2025. Less than $20. It's the playbook. It's horrifying.

John Meyer's avatar

It is free from the project 25 web site!

Melissa The Realtor's avatar

To me it seems like Trump is putting in the work for fascism for our country, sorry I’m super frustrated by the consolidation of powers and closing the JFK library:/

DréAn's avatar

I wonder what Bobby Jr thinks about that.

mwca's avatar

Aaron, you are doing a great job. we need to understand that it took Hitler only 53 days to end democracy. In Germany. We are watching it happen here now in real time and with the media pushing this along, it will take less time in America. Please get into more depth about how we can legally challenge this given a complete failure by SCOTUS. It seems Trump is simply throwing the constitution out the window.

Patrick Edward's avatar

My mom barely makes it with her social security. If they take her money, I will have no problem doing what I have to... If I go to prison or die fighting, so be it.

P Dot's avatar

I'm so scared to lose mine. I don't have support to survive if it's taken away. And will lose all access to medications. It's such a hard long fight to get disability. And to have it possibly just be taken away is frightening and infuriating. I don't want to be one of the casualties due to this corrupt administration before people wake up and fix it.

Kathey Hunt's avatar

I feel your fear, I care. I understand the fight it takes to get disability from SS. It's the medical insurance that saved my life. I care. 🫶🏾

Dutchie01's avatar

For all the people that keep saying i was worrying too much when I said I didn't want US to become n@z1 Germany i would like to say a FU to them.

The Opinion Observer's avatar

Calling on all constitutional scholars—please step forward and help us navigate this nightmare.

Kathey Hunt's avatar

Grab a copy of the Constitution from Amazon or a bookstore now before they "edit it". Review it now.

Violet's avatar

It’s insane how Trump is able to do all of these things! If I had the same criminal history as him I wouldn’t even qualify for my little marketing job. Yet he can basically destroy the country unchecked? Scary times

Christine Romanell's avatar

This is another step in the Butterfly Revolution as per Curtis Yarvin which is brining us close and closer to a tech-Monarchy. Please raise the alarm about the long game they are playing to demolish democracy.

NJ Martin's avatar

Wonder how far folks are going to give him unlimited power.

That Woman's avatar

I hope at some point we'd have had enough and just start doing what must be done to stop them from destroying all.

Aaron Parnas's avatar

Just trying to do my part.

thank you for all of your support :) keeps me going

Allyssa's avatar

What’s the deal with social security? Some people are saying that there are people over 150 years old still getting checks but that’s not true, it has to do with the way the system is set up ? I need someone who has an unbiased opinion to help me understand that. I don’t know coding or anything of that nature.

Julianna Bridges's avatar

Look up Tizzyent on TT. He breaks down the SS thing and explains the where they got the idea that 150 yr old people are collecting benefits (which is not true).

Jan Barton's avatar

Here is a link from YouTube where Lawrence O’Donnell from MSNBC explains the “150”years old issue. https://youtu.be/E4MH2Dkf14k?si=6dLwCss2QDh6aNd3

cats1912's avatar

It's a placeholder that's why there's 150-year-olds apparently they did that on purpose to say yeah this person isn't qualified because of the age. Elon just said it to make it seem worse than it was

Conni Spellman's avatar

Basically Musk's minions did not know the program that social security was using and in trying to interpret it came up with people 150 years old receiving checks. It's not true at all.

I’m Truly Feeling Numb. Every Day It’s Something Even More Evil And Dangerous What These Cruel SOBS Are Doing. The Worst Devils I Have Seen In My Entire Life. They Are A Bunch Of Sick Disgusting Deranged Demons.
