I just wrote to the 2 CA senators, my US Representative and Representative Jeffries with this note.
Given today’s news about the White House now determining which news agents will have access to the President, I implore you, and all of the Democrats to fight back. This needs an immediate reaction and one that will demonstrate our belief in the truth.
I would suggest that the Democratic Senate and Democratic House jointly establish a “DC Newsroom” and push daily morning and evening updates.
We, the people, need access to the news of the day. They want us in the dark, we need the Democrats to shed the light on us.
i love this!!! I wonder IF ANY NEWS OUTLETS will have the balls to withdraw from the news and keep HIM IN THE DARK. I know that's a dream since NBC & MSNBC just fired all their non-white anchors. This country is unrecognizable.
For states with no Democratic leaders (ie. Florida), what verbiage can we use to send similar requests or concerns? I love this, but having all Republican leaders wouldn’t work with this specific messaging.
Thank you! I didn’t think of that. As I was going through the contract info for my state I was getting more and more frustrated that I have zero democratic representation. And I vote in the elections!
Alt National Parks is reporting the following. Can you investigate and report, please?
Operation Whirlwind
(Updated post—sorry it’s so long!)
What’s Happening Now?
In 2025, Operation Whirlwind was launched under Interim U.S. Attorney Ed Martin to investigate alleged threats against employees of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Initially framed as a national security measure, the operation quickly took aim at Congress over past remarks deemed threatening.
However, recent reports indicate that Operation Whirlwind has transformed into something far more alarming: a tool for suppressing opposition, silencing the media, and intimidating critics of the Trump administration. News organizations, advocacy groups, and even individuals expressing dissent have been targeted with legal threats and harassment. The administration is pushing the boundaries of First Amendment protections, with concerns growing that this is a direct attempt to control the narrative and stifle resistance.
Operation Whirlwind has expanded— the Trump administration will now handpick which media outlets can participate in the presidential press pool, the small, rotating group of reporters who relay the president’s daily activities to the public. This breaks decades of precedent, giving the White House more control over which journalists can witness the president’s actions up close and ask him questions.
Operation Whirlwind is also targeting individual citizens. People have been forcibly removed from events for speaking up against the administration. Everyday Americans who express dissent—whether at public forums, town halls, or even online—are becoming the latest targets of this operation. The crackdown on opposition is no longer limited to journalists and political figures; it is now reaching into communities across the country.
Attorney Ed Martin has also threatened to prosecute any resistance member who is in the way of Elon Musk or his staffers. As the head of the Department of Government Efficiency, Musk and his team have been granted extraordinary authority, with Martin signaling a zero-tolerance policy toward any interference with their activities. This move is a further extension of Operation Whirlwind’s use of the legal system to protect those in power while targeting their opponents.
News media articles across the internet are being forcibly taken down, which we are sure many have noticed. Reports critical of the administration, investigative pieces exposing government overreach, and opinion pieces challenging the legitimacy of Operation Whirlwind are vanishing from websites, raising concerns about censorship at an unprecedented scale. Major news organizations are facing intense legal pressure, with some even forced to shut down sections of their coverage to avoid government retaliation.
Where Did the Name Come From?
The choice of “Operation Whirlwind” is deeply symbolic—and chilling. The name originates from the 1956 Hungarian Revolution, when the Soviet Union launched a military assault, Operation Whirlwind, to crush an uprising for independence and democratic reform. The operation resulted in brutal urban combat, thousands of casualties, and the forced suppression of a nation’s demand for freedom.
By adopting this name, the Trump administration’s modern-day Operation Whirlwind appears to signal a similar intent: to assert control, suppress dissent, and eliminate opposition at any cost. The echoes of history are unmistakable, and the implications for democracy and civil liberties in the U.S. are deeply concerning.
I listened to Rachel Maddows show and she expressed her deepening concern for what’s going on in the world but now with her own family at msnbc. So scary
I have incomprehensible faith that Good will overcome Evil. God said it and I believe it. Prayers for all of the independent outlets…. Thank you for all you do.
I just watched hilter's lost tapes. These moves these fascists are making are right out his playback. Project 2025 is just a new name for nazism/communism.
Thank you, Aaron. These are scary times. I’m so grateful that we have access to you and other independent journalists so we can have accurate reporting of the facts.
Fascists love old ideas and traditions and think all the truth we need was already discovered long ago. They don’t believe in learning new things or changing their minds.
---
2. **Rejection of Modernism**
Fascists don’t trust modern ideas or technology. Even though they might use it, they think modern ways of thinking, like science and reason, have ruined the world.
---
3. **Action Without Thinking**
Fascists believe acting quickly is better than thinking things through. They don’t like people who question things or spend time learning because they think it makes people weak.
---
4. **Disagreement is Bad**
In science and modern thinking, arguing and debating help us learn more. But fascists see disagreement as betrayal and don’t allow it.
---
5. **Fear of Differences**
Fascists try to make people scared of anyone who is different, like people from other countries or cultures. They blame "outsiders" for problems to make people angry and united against them.
---
6. **Frustrated People Join Fascism**
Fascism appeals to people who feel stuck or frustrated with their lives, especially if they feel ignored or left behind by society.
---
7. **Nationalism and Blaming Others**
Fascists tell people their country is special, but it’s being attacked by enemies—both from outside (like other countries) and inside (like certain groups of people). This creates fear and hatred.
---
8. **Enemies Are Both Strong and Weak**
Fascists say their enemies are super powerful and rich, but also weak enough to be beaten. This makes followers feel both scared and confident at the same time.
---
9. **Life is a Constant Fight**
Fascists believe life is all about fighting and war. They think peace is bad because it makes people soft, but they also dream about winning a final battle that will fix everything (which never happens).
---
10. **Elitism and Looking Down on Others**
Fascists believe some people are better than others. They say their group is the best, but even within that group, only the strongest deserve to lead.
---
11. **Everyone Must Be a Hero**
Fascists want everyone to act like heroes who are ready to die for their cause. They glorify death in battle as something noble and amazing.
---
12. **Machismo and Obsession with Strength**
Fascists think being tough and "manly" is super important. They look down on women, dislike people who don’t fit traditional gender roles, and often focus on weapons as symbols of power.
---
13. **Fake Populism**
In a democracy, everyone gets a vote, but fascists pretend that only one leader knows what "the people" really want. They use emotions to control people instead of letting them think for themselves.
---
14. **Simplified Language (Newspeak)**
Fascists use simple language to stop people from thinking deeply or questioning things. By limiting how people talk, they limit how people think.

TY!! Love this idea!!! I will use your template and get letters off to my senators and reps and Jeffries. LFG people!!
They say the best thing to do is call. They log the calls from constituents. Use an app called
5 Calls. It’s free and you just enter your zip code and it gives you a script and the phone numbers.

You can write to Representative Jeffries and Senator Schumer.
Thank you! I didn’t think of that. As I was going through the contract info for my state I was getting more and more frustrated that I have zero democratic representation. And I vote in the elections!
I believe this is a brilliant idea.

How can we be assured that Substack won’t be targeted or worse yet shut down??
Dunno but Substack as I understand it is personally owned, not gov funded. Those who have Substacks pay for this service to set themselves up here.
Thank you for existing and staying in to be the eyes and ears on the other side for all of us.
I listened to Rachel Maddows show and she expressed her deepening concern for what’s going on in the world but now with her own family at msnbc. So scary
We will have to start calling press briefings, "propaganda spreadings"
and the Washington Post now, "Washington Propoganda"

Actually it is part of the steps towards an authoritarian/ fascist regime. We are currently in step 6 out of seven.
