With that, here is all the news you missed this afternoon:

  • Donald Trump has announced that tariffs against Canada, Mexico, and China will be implemented tomorrow and there is nothing the countries can do to prevent them. The tariffs will be 25% on all Canadian goods, 25% on all Mexican goods, and an additional 10% on all Chinese goods. These tariffs will rise prices on a whole host of goods that Americans rely on daily.

  • As a result of Donald Trump’s tariffs announcement, the DOW Jones closed more than 600 points lower, the S&P 500 saw its worst day since December closing 1.8% lower, and the Nasdaq closed 2.2% lower.

  • In addition, the crypto industry suffered major losses today with bitcoin and other crypto closing lower than expected.

  • Economists are now predicting that the stock market will close even lower tomorrow should Trump impose these tariffs, which all signs point to him doing so tomorrow morning.

  • The Atlanta Fed's GDPNow index projects a -2.8% decline in the U.S. economy for the first quarter.

  • Senator Bernie Sanders is scheduled to deliver a response to President Trump's address to Congress tomorrow.

  • The FAA is investigating after multiple airliners near Washington Reagan National Airport reportedly received false collision avoidance alerts.

  • The U.S. Treasury has halted the enforcement of the Corporate Transparency Act.

  • Honda will manufacture the next Civic in Indiana instead of Mexico due to U.S. tariffs.

  • A top FBI official who vowed last month to resist the Trump administration’s request for the names of agents involved in January 6th cases has retired under pressure as head of the New York field office, according to five sources cited by NBC News.

  • Catholic Charities of Fort Worth has sued RFK Jr. and the Department of Health and Human Services, seeking a court ruling that HHS’s funding freeze for the refugee resettlement program is "arbitrary and capricious."

  • RFK Jr.’s top spokesperson, Tom Corry, has abruptly resigned after just two weeks on the job, following clashes with RFK Jr. and his close aides over their management of HHS amid the growing measles outbreak, according to two sources.

  • Stephen Miller has taken over the messaging for the Department of Justice, and it has not gone well according to reports.

  • The United States is now on the verge of ending all military assistance to Ukraine, and an announcement may be coming soon.

Donald Trump’s first joint address to Congress is tomorrow. I will be on Capitol Hill covering it live. Let me know what you want me to ask members!
