I’ve been horrified for a while, imagining the conditions for those detained. Having worked at a jail. I know how complex the organization and train training must be to provide safety, adequate bedding, hygiene, water. food, communications and medical care. I cannot imagine that conditions are adequate at these detention centers, and I beg the representatives to keep trying to get in.

As a Ukrainian refugee, now in Canada, from 1953, whose uncle was sent to the gulag because he wasn’t lucky enough to be in the American zone ,as we were. America is looking soviet familiar in many respects. PS : my mother kept her US issue mess kit all her life and was fiercely proud of what the USA stood for at the time. I still have the knife and all the documents, as I was born in the American camp in 1948.
The student was Preston Damsky, the Trump-nominated judge who taught the class and gave the award was John L. Badalamenti. Since the article is this year, and they speak of Jan, Feb, and March, it would be this year.
Thanks, Terry! I wanted to read more about this. I understand that we must all be tolerant of various points of view. But I find this POV convenient for them, outdated, and impossible to honor. I am disappointed, bjut not surprised that a prof would reward that kind of thinking. I imagine the paper Preston wrote is his crowning glory and a huge embarrassment for the rest of us. The only thing I can think of as to why it's rewarded, is because it's a trump appointed judge that has the same mindset. His reasons aren't given. He'd probably be disbarred if they were! Hopefully, it's looked into, because that's really disgusting and beyond disappointing.

I don't know how you do this. I want so badly to scream and be vocal, but I am silenced. Is he winning? Yes and no. Yes, an American citizen is silenced. No, because they haven't come to my house. We didn't use an immigration lawyer, but I need to find one now.
