No. You don't. We are not a regime. We are a republic with democracy and a Constitution that needs to be re-read. Imagine what that would look like.

Maria K.'s avatar

Well let's see... we have the president who had violated the Constitution multiple times. Said president is also a convicted felon who has been credibly accused of SA by multiple women.

We have Congress majority that allows the said president to do whatever the heck he wants.

We have an incompetent, prejudiced cabinet.

We have masked goons with guns snatching people off the streets without cause and throwing them into the slammer without due process.

Tell me again that part about democracy! I mean... you can keep telling yourself that that's what we have. Maybe it will sink in when you are the one grabbed off the street.

Doesn't anyone want to know why Noem and Miller and Hegseth aren't arrested for breaking the law??? It's FINE in Los Angeles--no violence. Except for the horrific ICE raids on normal hardworking people. Food in fields is now rotting because people aren't coming to work to pick them, restaurant workers aren't working, women whose husbands have been kidnapped can't make rent, their kids are scared--some kids have been taken!!

The economy in LA and in California is being crippled due to NOEM and MILLER.

We know why our kneecapped GOP majority Congress isn't calling for their arrests. But why aren't the Democrats calling for it?? Why are WE THE PEOPLE not calling for it--daily? Or a court-martial! The Military are supposed to be protecting US, not private ICE contractors!!

Noem et. al. are not elected officials. They are regular people appointed to high profile jobs. It seems that "regular people with high profile jobs" still break laws and can still get arrested. Hope Aaron does a piece on why this is NOT yet happening.

Watch that BBB like a hawk. Democrats are not talking about the part that gives Noem and ICE an enormous budget for the future. Guess who they're coming for next? Iranian Americans and assoc. ... Last night's bombing is an international war crime. The president can deploy troops with the approval of Congress. He can't declare war without Congress. But he does whatever he wants, and Republicans won't call him out on it.

The United States of America is a Constitutional Democratic Republic.

Democratic Republic has absolutely nothing to do with democrats or republicans, of which I don't believe there are any republicans. All elected officials are maga. The Party of trump.

It means the US follows the Constitution as the ultimate law (which maga know zero about). trump has broken so many amendments.

We are a Democracy, meaning We The People have the ultimate power because we rule with elections.

We are a Republic, because our government has a chief of state who is not a monarch and who now is called a president. We're a government in which supreme power resides in a body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by elected officers and representatives responsible to them and governing according to law.

The trump regime doesn't believe in The Constitution, they don't believe that We The People have power whatsoever, and trump has taken away the voices of our elected officials. They don't believe in laws. trump has been sued many times over, he's appealed all the way to the Supreme Court. Most times he loses. trump goes against their ruling anyway. That isn't a law abidding person.

trump is a fascist authoritarian. What trump and his regime are doing has nothing, 0, nadda, zip, to do with prior administrations, unless Hegseth mean trumps. trump has blamed others for decades of triggering WW3, when in reality it was trump himself that triggered it.

Learn Judy. Research topics instead of posting shit that makes you look absolutely ridiculous.

Trump Hurtles Us Into The Unknown - his attack on Iran threatens to send the entire region up in flames

by MARK MANSOUR

JUN 22

Donald Trump’s decision to order airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities yesterday evening represents one of the most dangerous and reckless foreign policy and military gambits in recent American history. It was a devastating blow to our international credibility and a violation of the War Powers Act.

His very brief speech last night was an incoherent, boastful and warmongering mess. He overtly threatened more military action and did so with evident relish. He is no president; he is a disgrace to the office and to the nation he professes to represent.

Far from protecting American interests or advancing world peace, these bombings have plunged the Middle East into deeper chaos, alienated key allies, and significantly increased the risk of terrorist attacks against Americans at home and abroad.

Rather than deterring Iran, the strikes will unite its population behind hardline leaders and fuel outrage across the region. European diplomats will abandon ongoing negotiations, and Iran’s regime will move to retaliate against American targets. This escalation has left the United States isolated and vulnerable, with the probability of imminent threats from Iranian proxies and sleeper cells worldwide.

By attacking Iranian soil, Trump has handed Tehran a powerful propaganda tool and a clear motive for revenge. Iran’s extensive network of militant groups—including Hezbollah and others—will be re-activated, and Americans are now under heightened threat of terror attacks, both overseas and potentially on U.S. soil. The State Department has issued urgent warnings for Americans in the region, while we will have to brace for a wave of cyberattacks, bombings, and assassinations.

Instead of demonstrating strength, Trump’s actions have left the world more unstable and Americans more at risk. The chance for diplomatic solutions has been shattered, and the specter of a wider war now looms over the region. This is not a strategy for peace or security—it is a dangerous gamble that endangers every American and threatens world stability.

Damn every American who voted for this tyrant and idiot.

If the voters were not ignorant idiots, most of them wouldn't have voted for Donald Trump or any of his minions, handlers, owners, hand-chosen legislative candidates, or Psycho-phants. Trump represents (has been bought by) a cadre of would-be oligarchs. They have no interest in perpetuating a functioning, prosperous democracy.

NO democracy can survive a substantially ignorant electorate. US Education needs to become world-class, evidence-based, devoid of enforced bigotry or religious doctrine and exclusivity, generously funded, freely accessible everywhere, life-long, and designed for the 21st Century, NOT the 19th.
