Tiffany Rae's avatar

100%. His BNP is probably through the fucking roof. Now I’m wondering if that’s what the supposed makeup on his hand was from— a blood draw. I didn’t think anything of it and just thought he looked like he had edema on elderly hand. He very well could be getting treatment at the White House.

Expand full comment
Noelle Towne's avatar

Not "too many handshakes" that's for sure lol wtf

Expand full comment
Janice Darling's avatar

He doesn't like to touch most people--fear of germs, so I doubt that he has shaken enough hands for a bruising. That's why, it is speculated, he didn't do the traditional handshake of the graduates at West Point but just disappeared without a fare thee well. Maybe he punched the wall when he got so mad at his followers for not letting go of the Epstein story?

Expand full comment
Theodora's avatar

Blood draw? or IV infusion of lasix? Certainly frequent hand shaking while taking aspirin is not causing the bruising.

Expand full comment
S. A. Linden's avatar

I think what you said sounds right. His "bruise" is just too conveniently placed. Anyway, his profile is just asking for CHF, considering his eating habits and the stress of a political job at his age, plus hey, Donald: golfing in a golf cart is NOT exercise.

I think this diagnosis is 1) a distraction from the Epstein situation 2) I don’t think this is a new diagnosis because he won’t release his medical records 3) he’s trying to gain pity from MAGA just like he did during the fake assassination attempt.

Lois's avatar

He's trying to minimize it by making it sound less serious than it probably is. His doctors have always lied for him. He is very overweight, gets no formal exercise, has an atrocious diet and based on the total lack of transparency he could have anything.

Expand full comment
MT's avatar

I agree. It's much more serious than they're saying. Maybe karma has come for him. But his deflection has hurt his base, because he called them stupid and said he didn't need them. His over the top cruelty and inhumane treatment of immigrants isn't sitting well with anyone. His base are burning their red hats, removing signs. He has pushed the cruelty too far. Stephen Miller, Kristi Noem, and Tom Homan are becoming hated figures. Their constant lies are no longer working. Trump's approval ratings are dropping like bricks. When this health condition worsens causing death, there will be celebration not sadness! He is all over the Epstein files and his continued trying to deflect attention isn't working. It's making it worse. If he was smart, he would rein in the CRUELTY, but he's not. I think we will be dealing with JD Vance by November. ICE is also picking up kids, taking them from their parents. Is this child trafficking????

I've seen the old Biden thing resurface this week, complete w/ a Jake Tapper interview. So I'd guess, may be wrong, that the Administration is trying to both get ahead of the game and minimize it at the same time. They sure don't want it to haunt MAGAs as long as they've tried to keep the Biden controversy alive. It will stick to them like a bur in the weeds.

Why are we arresting veterans and their families?? Who cares where they were born, they served our country and fought for our safety, rights and freedom!

Expand full comment
Meesh P's avatar

Honestly, as a Veteran, I really wish the general public wouldn't have this mentality for all veterans, as a whole. Unfortunately, there is a pretty sizeable population who are the worst of the worst - rapists, child abusers, spouse/ partner abusers, regularly drive drunk, and yes, even murderers. Being a Veteran doesn't instantly mean the person is good or honorable, and the public needs to start realizing that and stop excusing people simply because they're a Veteran. Obviously, this case may be exempt from that, as far as we know.

Expand full comment
S. A. Linden's avatar

I agree completely. But there is a certain amount of civility due veterans merely because they have decided to serve their country and possibly put themselves in harm's way to do it. And yes, I too would like the stats.

Then there are those like J. D. Vance, who holds up his military service as if it's something special, when all he did was serve as a reporter, not in combat, I believe.

The real point is that no where should an American citizen (or anyone else) be treated the way that man was treated. He didn't resist, he cooperated, he showed ID (which is more than ICE can freaking say!)

Expand full comment
Meesh P's avatar

I completely agree. Whether the person is a citizen or not, veteran or not, NO ONE should be treated the way he was treated.

Expand full comment
Cynthia A. Williams's avatar

I have often thought the same thing! I don't believe in idolizing anybody individually or as a group because nobody is all good. It's idolatry and we all OUGHT to know how false a kind of worship that is. Americans have idolized our vets because we are a hopelessly militaristic society. So glad to hear a vet with a realistic point of view. Thanks for going out on a limb, and now get ready for the hate mail.

Expand full comment
Andrea Todd's avatar

Got stats on that?

Expand full comment
Meesh P's avatar

Just personal experience and knowledge from 8 years of service and working with veterans in a clinical setting. We all see the stories of active duty females being raped and murdered by fellow service members. And there are countless more that no one hears about, especially when it comes to rape and sexual assault.

Andrea Todd's avatar

Yeah I looked it up. Veterans incarcerated at the rate of 1/3 of the incarcerated population.

Expand full comment
Dee's avatar

As an ex tanker wife- the good outweigh the bad but we are talking large numbers and you are not wrong. Many have issues as a result of the time they spent serving our nation so we have to weigh that part too.

Expand full comment
Meesh P's avatar

Yes, their service can cause some serious issues, but many are doing atrocious things without having trauma to blame it on. I served 8 years, and worked with veterans in different capacities. The only thing I'm saying is that people really need to stop assigning all veterans the title of hero just for doing 4 years and not doing much of anything.

I have my own health issues (auto-immune & I did have a clot in my 40s) - so I am hesitant to wish anyone harm. But in this case, I will bend the rule and say I wish him the same mercy he has shown all the immigrants in this country, which is zero. Also, I think they are minimizing whatever is going on and trying to take attention off Epstein ("oh poor me" - totally his modus operandi).

Why don’t you go out and take the immigrants jobs. Roofing, heavy construction work, dry cleaning, janitorial work, cleaning houses, picking fruits and vegetables in the heat, milking cows, or plucking feathers off dead chickens and packing meat on a conveyor belt for ten hours a day.

I don’t understand why people are so angry about the people who work harder than most Americans are willing to.

And as to paying taxes, every time they go to buy something they pay sales tax. If they rent, part of that money goes to the landlord to pay property and school tax, if they do get paid properly, they pay Social security and income taxes.
