Newsom is meeting the moment. Now let the other Dems follow and stop focusing on strongly worded letter campaigns. Disappointed that the Sen Dems didn't hold the line more to run out the clock on the recissions package. 9 billion dollars of cuts was a win we needed.

It was well documented at a web site that was run off the internet. Found this in an instant with lots more, that truth needs reseaching.

Try the search bar. The part on Jews demand he get America to join the war, I have not yet looked up, but it was documented.

The site was called "Hollow Hoax". A trove of relevant and supported info. The owner James Steward from eastern Canada was getting up in years, hope he gave his info to someone trustworthy.

Try this in search bar:

100%. And while he works the political machinery, we the people need to make sure that the 2026 elections are fair and accurate.I’m gonna keep posting this idea: return to paper ballots with neutral oversight.

And, while I’m at it is there anyway to expedite the release of the Epstein files so that Trump doesn’t find a solution through his predictable use of delay?

For the record, all Dems and independents voted no. Because 1 Dem Senator was hospitalized, she missed the final vote. It was 51-48. Tom Tillis (R) also went back to supporting Trump.

Dems did what they could. Both HB1 (OBBBA) and this one (HR4) were able to go by simple majority due to budget rules in the Senate.

California is a DONOR STATE. Red states better realize where their funding comes from

You know... I keep wondering... The GOP keep pushing for "giving more power to the states". Fine. How about all the states that contribute the lion share to the taxes and to the economy (California, New York, etc.) just say "Fine, we are keeping our money and only maybe giving it to our friends. Maybe." And leave it at that.

I live in a donor state, Massachusetts, and Trump cut $108 million of money for education that was already allocated to us by the federal government.

For every dollar we give to the federal government, we get sixty cents.

We could have kept that money and spent it on our own children but no … we have to pay for other states to teach their children creationism.

The feds have the money so it came from these states for that reason he cannot repurpose it and must return it to the states to fund their new responsiblity, for which most are eager to finally have a say what they want taught and what text books they can use. The selfish states who have more population understandable, but we all share in many respects, WE all have strengths and weaknesses. Iif you want separate borders maybe we should all succeed and form our little borders and get the feds out of our busines. Get tRump off our collective arses. Otherwise they feds are dictating a loss of freedom, and could not cross borders to evict good citizens and helpful immigrants. This is a choice and some states have been planning it for along time.

This color prejudice reminds me of Gaza, we are next folks, get with it. Trump bows to Netanyahu. Can't you see the light?

This. Exactly. I say we stop being a net donor state. Let's contribute exactly as much as ee give and allocate the withheld funding to state infrastructure projects and give the contracts to businesses that are headquartered and only operate in Massachusetts.

It's time to stop being a piggy-bank to red states.

Let them find or make their own bootstraps and haul themselves up by those.

We have plenty of worthy goals to make Massachusetts a stronger state than it already is.

And I really object to my tax dollars going to fund one fucking particular flavor of religious MYTHOLOGY being privileged and taught as fact to impressionable children.

The First Amendment CLEARLY states:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

The Executive branch isn't mentioned because it doesn't have the authority and never has.

Let's make Massachusetts a net-neutral state. For every federal cent we receive, Massachusetts gives one.

Not one cent more.

And keep a damned close accounting. Right now, we're running a 108-million-dollar deficit in addition to the already-established net donor imbalance.

Yep. California’s funding is being cut by 811-939 million. Absolutely bonkers in its lawless breadth and cruelty. Newsom and Bonta have sued/are suing, but considering our current GOP SCOTUS and their recent lawless decisions upholding Trump’s theft of our already-congressionally allocated education funds, I no longer have any illusions that we will be successful.

Therefore, since our tax dollars are literally being stolen from us, effectively reducing our large[est] donor state to taxation without representation, it is not only our right, but our responsibility, to withold our tax dollars from the federal government. Newsom is already looking at how to redraw congressional maps in our state (to counter what the GOP is doing in TX and OH). I hope he is also looking at ways to keep all of our tax monies in our state.

If Republicans want to gerrymander the country into a Red Kingdom, it’s fair game to redraw the board. Spare me the pearl-clutching about fairness. This isn't idealism hour. It’s survival.

As for firing Maurene Comey with no explanation while Trump’s Epstein panic spreads like swamp gas, let’s not pretend it’s subtle. They’re trying to bury a crater. The harder they push, the more obvious it becomes.

And if you're still confused why John Lewis matters today, just look at who’s trying to erase his legacy.

The GOP has been playing dirty and cheating for a long time. It's time we rethink the high road and fight fire with fire. I like to see Newsome standing up to them, and I hope other blue states take his example. Withholding taxes to help those Trump refuses to help is the only way I can see where the message is loud and clear. Californian here - Yes We Love Gavin Newsom especially his new tougher fighting side - BTW The GOP’s slur is designed to emphasize the part of the word “Democrat” that has “rat” in it - the evil racist divisive Senator Joe McCarthy in the 1950s started this but yes evil Rush Limbaugh (hopefully burning in hell at this moment) reactivated it use - those who use the word sound absolutely stupid because “Democrat” is a noun (such as a person or thing like a chair) and “Democratic” is an adjective which modifies (or refers to) a noun (like the word “Orange” in “Orange chair” the chair is the noun & Orange is the adjective) - so when these Moron GOP folks say “DemocRat Senator” they sound like uneducated idiots (because you have 2 nouns there) instead of “Democratic Senator” which properly has an adjective & a noun modified by that adjective - anyway my Mom was a teacher so sorry for this overkill explanation but it always irritates me - Joy Reid ALWAYS corrects anyone who came on her show & used “Democrat” in its slur form - now Joy is on Substack thankfully !

(1) I LOVE what California is planning to do.

(2) Unfortunately, my state of Ohio is also planning to do some more illicit redistricting. Our districts were adjudged illegal seven times by our Ohio Supreme Court. Now they are planning more of the same. Ohio is so corrupted by the Republicans, who viciously have fought the reality that we are actually a purple state. They boxed in the Dems and are planning more mischief. I certainly hope that Calif. can outplay them as well as Texas and what other state will consider trying this scam.

The good news is that gerrymandering will go to SCOTUS. And THIS time, it will make their little conservative heads twirl.

SCOTUS has been making bad decisions lately. trump has won the last six rulings I think. We need SCOTUS to stick with the constitution. They have to know this isn’t what the writers of the Constitution wanted at all. We need to get together in the midterms. trump just threw his supporters under the bus saying he doesn't need their support. Dumb ass.
