NASA Increases Odds of An Astroid Impacting Earth as the ACLU Takes on Trump | Evening News Rundown

NASA has doubled the odds of an astroid impacting the United States, the ACLU is sounding the alarm over the lack of access to migrants at Guantanamo Bay, and another plane crash, now in San Diego.

  • NASA has now increased the odds of an asteroid impacting earth in 2032 from about 1% to about 2%, making clear that the threat from this asteroid, which is the size of the Statue of Liberty, is greater than average for space objects.

  • There was yet another plane crash in America, this time in San Diego, California, where a military fighter jet crashed into the San Diego Harbor. Thankfully, both pilots safely ejected from the plane and no one was injured.

  • The Trump Administration secured a major victory as a Massachusetts federal judge restored the fork-in-the-road deferred resignation program finding that the unions suing did not have standing to pursue the case.

  • The ACLU is sounding the alarms over the Trump Administration’s lack of access to migrants at Guantanamo Bay and have sued the Administration for increased access to the migrants.

  • Tulsi Gabbard has been confirmed as the next Director of National Intelligence with all Republicans voting for her, except Mitch McConnell.

  • Mitch McConnell issued a major op-ed today blasting the Trump Administration and asserting that Kentucky families could not afford the Administration’s tariffs policy.
