Dr Phil. A gross violation of human dignity, turning people’s suffering into entertainment. And how people will cheer, popcorn in hand. Absolutely Nauseating.

He is the absolute lowest of low. Even worse than Jerry Springer. Springer didn’t pretend to be anything but what he was. “Dr.” Phil pretends to be an authority on everything. Oprah really promoted some real winners (“Dr.” Oz being another one).

Dr. Phil. How disgusting. 🤮

The TSA? Like… I’m not fond of them but that seems wild…

Expand full comment

Airlines will be responsible? Guess who ends up paying for that.

Expand full comment

exactly--costs getting passed on to the everyday consumer yet AGAIN.

Expand full comment

This is TERRIFYING

Expand full comment

Mind-blowingly WILD 🫠

Expand full comment

Then the airlines pay for it and they free money up for themselves

Expand full comment

How good of security is an airline like Southwest gonna pay for? Also they’ll probably just tack on a 150$ security fee.

Expand full comment

Exactly! This is just a way to privatize it and instead of our tax dollars covering it we will pay extra for it- and you know we don’t see a decrease in our taxes!

Expand full comment

Trump has to have some way to decrease the massive increase in debt he is planning on saddling us with.

Expand full comment

exactly, you know theyre going to charge us for it

Expand full comment

TSA does a lot more than just look through people's luggage and watch the X-ray machines. Mike Lee is an idiot. The airlines do not have the personnel, and would not know how to do the training or clearances to do it themselves.

Only one week. It feels like it’s been much, much, MUCH longer.

Expand full comment

It absolutely has. But this is their goal. Overwhelm us to the extent that we burn out on resisting and we roll over and give up. This is their tactic and is likely to go on for the first 90 days or so. So we have to do whatever it is, to continue the resistance. I’ve read several articles on how to avoid burnout. I’m trying my best to stay motivated and not let burnout or fear change my way of life. 💜

Yeah..I actually woke up this morning wanting to give up. Me!? A decades long radical activist, with ancestral activism in my blood. So I'm gonna stay close in with all of you. Regrouping on self care too.

I heard Trump just hit the golf course! Might be fake news, but if its true, good for us. (Unless this was his reward for being so diligent last week.)

Expand full comment

I absolutely agree. What are some articles that you find most helpful?

If you could share some links I would be very appreciative.

Expand full comment

Thanks Timothy..we can uplift and continue strong when we stay connected in appreciation! Honestly I might skim articles, but don't go so much for that as I do for staying in alignment, in integrity with my deepest intentions, every day to live by my dedication to uplift the good and fight evil. I have one on one convos with people in my life, and invite them into the resistance. I stay connected with those inspiring leaders I just suggested above and take action when suggested. One of my main deals/joys is to encourage folx to get and stay engaged. It's easy to get discouraged but as you know, impatience can get the best of us. I rage and complain and cry as needed but I have a 5 minute rule for that! Then carry on...I believe in the long haul..."The arc of the universe is long but bends toward justice"! Community is where I find my roots and daily support in the resistance. Been doing this since I was 14 and I'm in my 70's now. I will never stop resisting hate. Never. Look up: https://www.hopiumchronicles.com/ https://www.dworkinsubstack.com/ https://contrarian.substack.com/ also check out The Bulwark and Mary Trump Substacks. And connect with folx in your area. Enjoy the ride-life is short! :) Thanks for all you do!

Good sleep! And good. Exercise daily. Stay informed! But take little breaks as needed. Know we are in for the long haul; it’s a marathon not a sprint. Create local real time connections-this is essential! Send lots of likes and appreciations to others, do all the things suggested so we are LOUD! Connect daily with good and reputable substacks; I like Dworkin Report, The Contrarian, Hopium Chronicles, Aaron and MeidasTouch enjoy funny and engaging Netflix or other streaming. Get hugs from family and friends. If I feel discouraged I let others know and get support. We can let our voices out and take all the actions possible. What might you suggest? ✌🏼💙

You rock! I can actually feel your sincerity, empathy and concern. I get so hopeless when I see one after another, people I thought were stalwart and dependable, fall like dominoes. The latest was Tim Kaine, former governor of Virginia and currently my senator. I voted for him.

It is so sickening and disheartening.

Thanks for speaking up.

I have a lot of family that live or have lived in Virginia and they feel that too. If it weren’t for having a liberal governor in KS (and the liberal pockets of Kansas City and Wichita), we would be SOL.

I wish I had saved the link, but I have found that it’s ok to take a step back, to breathe. It’s ok to not read the comments. Pick 1-2 topics that you are most passionate about and focus on them, so as not to overwhelm yourself with the negative on EVERY topic. As I come across more, I will try to remember to come back here and post links (ADHD brain… I’ll do my best). Rely on one another. We must have each other’s backs. When one of us needs to rest, we need to be willing to carry those because there will likely be a time we need to rest too. Organizing on a local level is big and probably needing to move the organizing away from using anything Meta or X, including messengers. There have been several days that I only allowed myself to watch Aaron’s updates and any updates from Under the Desk News. No other reading or watching if I wasn’t in a good place mentally. Take your medicine and drink your water! It’s easy to let it all slip when you get in a funk. 💜

I am going to try to find some books that were written by people who lived in Germany during WW2 or at least in Europe. I would genuinely love to hear their perspective and learn how they navigated.

I struggle with wondering if this will turn more into WWII Germany or modern day North Korea. Neither appealing.

My ancestors were attacked. They knew it was coming so they prepared and mostly took quick action. They stuck together and many of them raised money for the others to escape and net and lived together in tenement houses in NY. They had underground meetings. They persevered or else I wouldn’t be here texting with you! They leaned in with each other and relied on strength and creative action instead of feeling victimized. They worked hard in the face of the moment. 👍🏼

Dr. Phil trying desperately to cling to relevance. Pathetic old sack of skin and bones.

They are FILMING the raids??!! That is repulsive !

Expand full comment

Was never on the Dr. Phil bus, but my God. These people have literally sold their souls.

Expand full comment

I wonder how Abbott is feeling about the ice raids in Texas? It’s going to shut down the construction industry in Texas!

Expand full comment

It's not even just tech companies and construction, we have a unique economy here because of the agriculture as well. This is going to be very bad.

Expand full comment

I live in California and it’s going to get really bad here especially for our agricultural industry.

Expand full comment

Yeah, that and the threat to not provide any federal aid for the wild fires. Does Trump even get briefed at all before he goes to disaster sites? I'm in KY, and even I knew about CA's innovative water system. And putting salt water on wild fires? Maybe in Florida, but not CA!!

Expand full comment

I'm in CA too...bracing for the destruction here but since so much produce comes from here, the entire country will suffer.

Expand full comment

Meh! He'll just find a way to blame Biden. 💁🏾‍♀️

Expand full comment

That asshat is on board with it. He agreed to have the 'detention centers' here. He is a vile man. We need to get him out!!

Expand full comment

Exactly. With all the big tech companies moving to Texas, they need their migrant workers more than ever. If they were smart, all the ICE deportation flights should be landing in Texas! He’d see growth opportunity like never before.

Expand full comment

Does anybody know where deportees will be held while they wait for flights out of the country? Are there camps? If so, where? Are there independent witnesses to make sure they are not being treated poorly?

Expand full comment

I read that as raids increase, we won't be able to fly them all out in a timely manner so I have heard though cannot confirm at the moment, the people may be held in interment centers built on military bases. Also apparently for profit prisons are salivating at the thought that the government will pay them to hold the backlog of immigrants while they are waiting (how long) to be deported. Beyond that I have not heard but that is not unusual--Trump flying off the handle unprepared as usual to show his base how he keeps (certain) his campaign promises, without stopping to analyze just how many more problems down the road by his actions.

Expand full comment

Yep, that's basically what I was expecting to hear. But at this point, just knowing that they are probably at a military base or maybe at a for-profit prison, that doesn't really tell us where they are! Thank you for confirming what I was already thinking though. I appreciate it

Expand full comment

You're joking, right? We don't have enough "independent witnesses" to cover it! Too disorganized.

Expand full comment

No, not joking, of course I share your lack of confidence that this will be done properly and that people will be treated like humans, but the way that we get witnesses and accountability is by asking for it, pointing it out, knowing what's going on. We got to know where the people are so that we can take care of them

Expand full comment

Do you have any details on in what manner the deportees were attempted to be sent to Columbia and how that differs from what Columbia is asking for? I'm not entirely clear on this.

Expand full comment

The deportees were shackled and transported in a military plane. Columbia demanded that they be delivered with dignity, unshackled and on a regular plane. I think the deportees landed in Guatemala and Columbia sent their presidential airplane to retrieve them.

Expand full comment

So if FEMA is dissolved along with the TSA, where do the funds go that were operating those organizations on the federal level?

I think it's obvious that the states and private airlines, respectively, would have to find new sources for funding that themselves, which translates into increased state taxes and increased airline prices.

He's out to bankrupt us all, following in his footsteps, isn't he?

Expand full comment

Yea his answer for everything seems to be “move to the states.” There was a very big reason why we have some things as federally covered/handled.
