TikTok is banned in China. Why is that? It only lets Americans see what it wants you to see. China is totally about silencing its people. There is no rule of law. If you speak out against the government you may “disappear”. Wake up!!! All media is controlled by the communist party.
I love your daily news breakdown! Thank you so much and I’m going to upgrade to a paid subscriber. I don’t usually do that - but I do want to make sure independent journalism continues. You are our lifeline to the news and I appreciate all that you do!
If a billionaire buys tiktok, you might as well just shut it down. It's all about silencing us. Creators will probably be censored or banned if they step out of line.
Followed you from ticktock and I appreciate your work in keeping us informed and like this more detailed format. Oligarchs are destroying our independent news.
Here's a tidbit story for you that David Cay Johnston told earlier this week on "The Mark Thompson Show" (YouTube). In 1980, the LA fire chief at a hearing or similar event acknowledged that the LA fire dept lacked adequate equipment in the event of a conflagration. At best, he said the dept would have to use dynamite to blow up houses to contain such a fire. An editor at The LA Times decided that was a political move to get more $ in the fire chief's budget rather than his honest subject matter expertise and, so, he killed the story. Thus, readers of The LA Times, including leaders in CA, didn't get access to that story. Read the Powell memo on the Greenpeace website or watch the documentary, "Heist: Who Stole the American Dream?" which is available for free on YouTube to learn why some news doesn't get through the corporate filters in legacy/mainstream media.
This is the first time a video has been able to view. In the past none of them have worked. I appreciate the use of video rather than reading straight text... very much.
Who’s super happy about getting the daily news this way ? Thank you, Aaron.
I am so nervous. Not only because we all love TikTok but because this would set a horrifying precedent.
Loving these daily news breakdowns 🤩
Same, this is way better than any other news source I've used.
Ticktock can go away! I am tired of worrying about it. I now have YouTube and Substack. That’s enough.
The ban isn't about TikTok. It's about silencing and oppression us to extreme levels.
Yes I know. But we are not silenced on other apps. Let them take it away. Again, I am sick and tired of worrying about it.
Yet….

Hard disagree
Perfect format. No fluff & gruff. We leave knowing what we need to know. Save the banter for the comments. 🎯
Young man just don't burn yourself out
My fear with putting it in trump’s hands is he will force them to kiss the ring and make them promise to censor like Zuck has done.

I’m doing the same, this is the future of journalism and the only source I trust!

As a Canadian, sanity can only be maintained by this kind of level- headed, non partisan reporting. Thank you.
Thanks for your hard work Aaron!
