I ran into the same problem. From a computer (not a phone), sign into Substack. There are a lot more options on Substack on a computer.
From your phone, I have canceled a current free subscription, then resubscribed to it. You should receive 2 emails. One welcomes you, the other gives you the option to upgrade to a paid subscription. Hope this helps. 😁
