Sounds to me like he is more well suited to work for Marc Elias at Democracy Docket. Davis Polk’s loss is democracy and the rule of law’s gain.

Bravo, Ryan! May you be the beginning of a wave of brave professionals standing up for what is right and just instead of bowing to the greedy and powerful and corrupt. Because if a firm is putting power above the law and democracy, it is corrupt. I admire you greatly for standing firm in your beliefs and integrity! Thanks for speaking out and sharing!

Given President Obama’d recent statements on this very matter, it’s important that he hear about this as it is a relevant example of law firms kowtowing to this regime.

I’m thinking the takeaway learning for young professionals in the field is to start writing a book on the events and their thoughts and when they get to a level where they can afford to be fired they can get that book published and let that be the platform for their advocacy.

Watching two lawyers speak to each other is so interesting. The dynamic of this interview is so eloquent but guarded for self protection. Thank you for sharing such a crucial conversation.

I noticed the same thing. But I thought it was more nearly an effort to just get to the points and facts as they pertained to Ryan.

Perhaps. Ryan may be being mindful of what he says in case of the event of a defamation case. As we know all to well, ignorance can be quite malicious when the wronged choose to stand up for themselves.

“It’s about what kind of profession we want to be. Do we serve justice? Or do we serve power?”

He paused before finishing: “Because we can’t do both.”

Surely you jest! A law firm that represents Senators (probably all R's), Supreme Court Justices, and billionaires? Not happening anytime soon.
