As Texans, we are living under a regime in our state and in our nation. The only way Repugs can win is to cheat. Go Texas Dems!

Since I’m Canadian, I don’t completely understand things like gerrymandering. But can they actually arrest an elected representative for not being in the states? It blew my mind when I read those words.

Amy K, this is not the first time that Texas elected Democrats have left the state to deny the Republicans a legally binding vote for an authoritarian bill. https://www.click2houston.com/news/local/2025/08/04/a-look-back-at-when-texas-house-democrats-walked-out-in-2021-to-block-gop-voting-bill/ Can they be arrested and forced to return? Under Texas law yes, but only if they can be found.

Amen, from North Texas. The eyes of Texas, and of the entire country are on

those who, as Kenneth Paxton was trying NOT to say, think that they ARE obeying

the law while go about trying to obliterate it.

Girl, the roads go north/south, east/west! You can’t really get lost if you know where you’re going in relation to where you are!! And there’s Marfa and the hill country!! Never mind the glorious food and gorgeous fresh fruit in the valley!!!

I know, there’s that RED business, but keep fighting for the other stuff!!

Same. I don’t think people in other states identify as strongly as we do here in Texas. I am an American first but I am also a Texan. Such a beautiful state. I hope we can turn it back to blue soon. Molly Ives would have been awesome to have around during these astounding times.

Texas USED to be a wonderful place. Lived in Houston for years. Left before it all went to shit. Now I worry about the friends I left behind. So very sad. 'Wheels" Abbott needs to be secured in his wheelchair and rolled out onto the 610 loop, and left there in rush hour traffic. Just kidding?

I live in Texas, but not for long. I will never live in a Republican state again. I was raised Republican, but I am more of a middle-of-the-road humanist now. I cannot stand what’s happening. Cheeto boy makes me nauseous.
