Donald Trump Blames DEI For The Washington, D.C. Plane Crash
This is why independent media is so important in this time.
Donald Trump has officially suggested that diversity hiring practices, also known as DEI initiatives, could have been responsible for the devastating plane crash in Washington, D.C. I felt as though this was such a critical moment to send a mid-day newsletter to you all. Don’t believe me? Listen here:
Two things are true. First, DEI was not responsible for the plane crash. The FAA and the NTSB are actively investigating the cause of the plane crash, but right now, we know that it was a devastating accident. Second, Donald Trump’s statements highlight exactly why we need media today that will hold political leaders to account.
That’s exactly what I plan to do. I applied to join the White House Briefing Room for moments like these. If I were in that room, I would have pressed Trump harder, making clear that there is zero evidence that diversity practices had anything to do with the devastating crash. Your support thus far will help me get there.

On another note. Last night, we learned that META has agreed to pay a $25 million lump sum settlement payment to Donald Trump. Why? Because he sued META for suspending his Instagram and Facebook accounts following the January 6th insurrection. First, ABC News. Now, META. Unlike both corporations, Substack has given me full editorial control of my work as an independent journalist, and I am confident this platform will not sell out. It’s why I am here, and will continue to grow my platform with all of you.
With that, here are some of the top news stories you may have missed from today:
The confirmation hearings of Kash Patel and Tulsi Gabbard have begun, with Patel breaking from Donald Trump’s pardons of violent January 6th insurrectionists.
Florida Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna introduced legislation to add Donald Trump to Mount Rushmore.
Panama has made clear once again that there will be no negotiations over the future ownership of the Panama Canal.
The City of Las Vegas has officially gone 200 days without water, only the second such occurrence in the past eight decades.
The ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas continues to hold today as Hamas has released eight additional hostages.
I will see you all at 5:30 for my evening news update. Until then, stay well. Thank you for your support,
Aaron
I'm worried about where they can take this DEI talking point. The way he said they couldn't have a DEI hire doing a job like this, we need someone really smart to do a job like this. How long before that devolves into can't have this woman/black person/gay person doing this job, we need someone SMART to do it. Another slippery, dangerous slope.
I don’t care who you are, watching the POTUS ramble on during a press conference, in circles mind you, and then make a comment about political BS….wow. Many lives were lost and you’re talking about what should’ve happened with the helicopter and how they work, etc. IN CIRCLES. As a leader(mind you, everyone that spoke after him just kissed his ass), your job is to be a leader, tell the American people what happened, give condolences, and assure everyone that the investigation will go on as necessary but don’t speculate and possibly start to place blame already; which is absolutely what it felt like he did.
And as I type this, Vance is talking and now sounds like he’s talking about ATC and DEI hiring. Getting good hired in there and how to go forward under Trumps leadership, blah blah. After Trump seemingly mentioned they weren’t to blame. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!??? Listen to the tapes from the ATC and tell me what happened!?? Make it make sense!😡😡😡
To the actual point that matters. Condolences to the actual people effected by this tragedy, the family, friends, first responders, anyone affected by this-that could also include people that are watching this unfold and might be fearful of how to explain this to their kiddos who might be scared/need consoling themselves/anxious. To anyone feeling scared, anxious, sad, etc. about the loss of life, that’s ok. Feel your feels. Much love to everyone. Let’s not make this political please. That is bullshit. And if this post upsets you, please unfriend me now. SERIOUSLY. Thanks. (from my FB-yes, I still have one)
