I'm worried about where they can take this DEI talking point. The way he said they couldn't have a DEI hire doing a job like this, we need someone really smart to do a job like this. How long before that devolves into can't have this woman/black person/gay person doing this job, we need someone SMART to do it. Another slippery, dangerous slope.

P. J. Schuster's avatar

We don’t have to wait for it to devolve into that; it’s already right there in our faces!! Every time he or ANY maga says DEI (it’s really DEIA) they absolutely mean 💯 that no Black, Brown, female, lgbtq, or disabled person is smart enough, or capable enough to MERIT that job. They won’t say those exact words, but they & we know what they mean. 🤬🤬🤬

I just wish people like Usha Vance, Byron Donaldson, Tim Scott, & even ol’ Romp-a-Swampy would figure that out sooner rather than later. They are being used to be their token “other” but once the magas have total power, they will be thrown aside like last weeks garbage.

We all need to band together to prevent that total power grab.

Of course, I meant how long until it moves from implication to being spoken outright. I agree with what you're saying though and it's infuriating.

It didn’t take very long, did it? He couldn’t even wait until all the families had been properly notified I suspect.

He is such a disgusting person.

I am a handicapped person, although I never thought of myself that way. I had polio as an infant & was left with semi paralysis of my right arm & left leg; & yet I became an RN & spent 42 yrs in acute care hospitals working OR, ER, ICU.

I guess if the WH resident was having a heart attack, he wouldn’t want this disabled person to use my knowledge to save his life; after all, I fall under that DEIA label. I couldn’t possibly be smart enough, physically capable enough to merit my position as an ICU nurse.

That is exactly what he is implying already, in my opinion. His claim that Pete Buttigieg was a D.E.I. hire was enough for me. So, his being part of the LGBTQIA+ community equals unqualified, because he certainly was intelligent enough and qualified for the job.

It would never have happened if Pete Buttigieg was still in charge. And the investigation would have been done professionally with experts and not with a crying felon trying to deflect his own responsibility for dismissing all the qualified folks that would have been in place to keep this from happening. Washington air space is the most monitored and secured. The only way for this to have happened was a deliberate terrorist attack by one of the pilots or from some flunky that Trump appointed after dismissing all the experts and qualified people.

I don’t care who you are, watching the POTUS ramble on during a press conference, in circles mind you, and then make a comment about political BS….wow. Many lives were lost and you’re talking about what should’ve happened with the helicopter and how they work, etc. IN CIRCLES. As a leader(mind you, everyone that spoke after him just kissed his ass), your job is to be a leader, tell the American people what happened, give condolences, and assure everyone that the investigation will go on as necessary but don’t speculate and possibly start to place blame already; which is absolutely what it felt like he did.

And as I type this, Vance is talking and now sounds like he’s talking about ATC and DEI hiring. Getting good hired in there and how to go forward under Trumps leadership, blah blah. After Trump seemingly mentioned they weren’t to blame. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!??? Listen to the tapes from the ATC and tell me what happened!?? Make it make sense!😡😡😡

To the actual point that matters. Condolences to the actual people effected by this tragedy, the family, friends, first responders, anyone affected by this-that could also include people that are watching this unfold and might be fearful of how to explain this to their kiddos who might be scared/need consoling themselves/anxious. To anyone feeling scared, anxious, sad, etc. about the loss of life, that’s ok. Feel your feels. Much love to everyone. Let’s not make this political please. That is bullshit. And if this post upsets you, please unfriend me now. SERIOUSLY. Thanks. (from my FB-yes, I still have one)

No, you aren’t the least bit out of line or overboard in your statements. I feel the same. What DT, & everyone else who went along with it, said & implied about DEIA & incompetence, placing blame; they are all disgusting low-lifes.

They have no empathy, no human decency at all. 😢 A minimum of 67 people died in that crash, & hundreds of others risked their lives trying to save anyone who might have survived.

A tragedy like this should be used to bring us together in our grief & human decency. It’s heartbreaking for us all that he won’t do that.

When does he take accountability for anything, or show true empathy for another??? Never, ever. Never has & never will. He threw rocks at a baby, a toddler when he was a kid. There’s probably cruelty to animals in his past also, I know he doesn’t like animals.

Wonder if he also had an inclination toward starting fires; all sociopathic signs.

As someone who works in the aviation industry, safety has always come first. Which is why there are statistically fewer accidents with aircraft than cars. Air traffic controllers and pilots have to have recurrent medicals issued stating that they are fit for their job. They are already smart people. Calling DEI into this is just a ploy to get people to get rid of the program. Unfortunately accidents happen, but the FAA literally has rules written in blood for these things. FAA and NTSB reports don’t even cover ethnicity or gender in their reports. They report on stress, fatigue, illness, medication, drugs/alcohol, eating and emotions. The FAA is more ruthless than the government in my opinion. DJT just doesn’t know what happens within this government agency. He only knows push agenda

So, a military Blackhawk clearly flew directly into a civilian flight. Presumably with soldiers on board.

-The New Orleans killer was a veteran.

-The Cybertruck explosion at Trump tower was done by a Special Forces guy.

-And we can't forget the armored humvee that was never recovered after a military base was raided while the LA fires were raging.

Anyone else seeing a pattern here?

Well, it’s definitely something we must pay attention to; a huge number of active military & veterans, police officers, county sheriffs, etc are rabid DT supporters & many have said right on camera that they would attack the Capitol again & will die for him if necessary.

Those people are the ones I’m afraid of, not an undocumented migrant
