We've become a nation that is quick to judge with words and reactions on many social platforms (an easy and "safe" way) to challenge, rebuke and poke the offenses. To actually physically, and mentally apply "work" to correct what is a travesty is rare and at a cost ( monetary, risk of retaliation?!). Lip service and throwing our verbal weight around is damaging and yet a constitutional privilege (well mostly). It's an impossible catch 22.
Our Congress is full of cowards and Americans are becoming just plain mean and nasty non-empathetic people every day. Typically fat and pasty white, the MAGA millions only pay attention to what their Rep and Senators do if they happen to vote against Trump. The preacher man at their holy roller churches drills into their semi-awake heads that Trump is holy as he is the second coming of God divinely chosen to rule America so no one forgets how special they are. America has become a nation of seriously overweight and bored people glued to their Lazy Boy chairs that expect their news to be one big game show. The majority have never served in the military and thus have not travelled outside the country save for a week once or twice a year on a Caribbean cruise or an all inclusive resort. Other than ordering another beer or margarita their interactions with foreigners are only to demand what they want next and maybe imagine with each additional cerveza or margarita what sex with a local be like. Land of the Constantly Entitled. Home of the Insatiably Entertained.
