Ok but BS, Walmart made over 19 billion dollars in profit last year, a 25% increase from the previous year. This kind of corporate reasoning is exactly what led us to where we are now

Oh also Walmart’s CEO to median employee pay ratio is 976:1

They have no choice but to raise prices so they can maintain their lifestyle. Greedy greedy. But I am sure someone out there will tell me that I could have the same cash flow if I made the effort.

I would prefer to live as a kind human being. I don't need billions of dollars to be happy.

The problem is no one is buying general merchandise items this year which have the most profit…we are all focused on food and consumables which Walmart typically does not have a high profit margin on. If you look at the pnls of individual stores from this fiscal year they are not making their profit in most stores regardless of cutting others costs. Not saying it’s right but you need to evaluate this years earnings report versus last years and look at spending trends.

I’ve been boycotting Walmart as the company has made significant contributions to the Trump administration.

Hey Walmart! If you have "already slim margins" then you shouldn't have financially supported the Heritage Foundation & Project 2025 as much as you have. F you Walmart! I hope you fail.

This is why they switched to digital tags- makes it easier to raise the prices over and over 🙄

Price tags. Rather than reprint and manually switch out, they can just reprogram them with higher prices

Aaron, I love your work and appreciate all you do! I wonder, should we stop using MAGA and start saying Republicans again? I feel like we are letting the Republican Party off the hook for this madness. They are after all MAGA but when elections come round, people may forget that.

Why do we allow Pres. Trump to get away with claiming not to know about a bill, an act done by people who work with him, etc. ? Biden was called Slow and Dementia was pushed at him. Why aren't we openly questioning Trump's mental capacity each time he says some form of I don't know? Why don't we question his ability to govern when he claims to be unaware? He needs to stop those claims or be called on them. Maybe each bill he claims to be unaware of needs to be rescinded. Each firing needs to be revoked when he claims to not know.

Is there any oversight to ensure companies are not taking advantage of the temptation to price gouge in the name of Tariffs?

Expand full comment
Tammy J Christ's avatar

All those safeguards were removed.

Expand full comment
Becky Suchy's avatar

There was oversight and the Biden administration was going after companies that were price gouging but Trump got rid of all oversight and they are dismantling the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.... A blatant sign that they really don't care about protecting consumers just the people price gouging.

Hey Aaron. I'm excited about your show with Adam later today. I live in California and I'd like to know:

How can we get Jimmy Panetta, Alex Padilla and more of our congresspeople out there with us protesting with us. The town halls are little more than lectures on the evils to come. We are desperate for wider media coverage and politicians to stand up with us in San Jose CA

Gross profit only accounts for cogs not all expenses. Their net profit is $15.511 billion. Which is still extremely high but much lower as well.
