This is all done to distract people from the budget vote this week where they plan to steal our Medicare, social security and medicaid

The sh*t will really hit the fan if Social Security is touched.

They are already "touching" it by laying off thousands of SS employees. There wont be enough labor, checks wont go out on time if at all. Just like the problems with DeJoy and poor performance at the USPS. After we dont get SS on time (which has been the most reliable payments for decades), they will claim they nee to restructure SS. That's when the real eist of SS will take place.

It’s all automated, but yes, they’ll screw with it

They are supposedly laying off 7000 SS employees. Even automated systems require hands on experienced humans to make things run smoothly. Anyone dependent on SS needs to be in the streets right now.

Why arent we raising hell now, over medicaid?? It will hurt Veterans, childre, single moms and elderly. Why wait for them to decimate SS?

Agree!!

I am a boomer and still working part time. I don't think of myself as elderly (72) but yes, I rely on SS my 401K and am pretty worried about my retirement. I thought I was set.

Sandra Tuttle's avatar

Oh, I agree Rachel. Me too. We protested on Presidents day in front of Thom Tillis office in Greensboro. About 250 people. Then again this past Thursday, about 350 people, mostly older,(me and my friend 73 y.o.). Most everyone looked older than us. It is going to take every person we can find to go into the streets and stop this madness. Old, young, every color, every persuasion. Let's go people, this is how it is done. Dont wait until they come for your group! You probably dont want to have to move your elderly parents back into your home from the nursing home.

My mom receives SS for my little brother who is disabled, as well as Medicaid. She’s completely brainwashed and says that the democrats are lying, that no one is coming after it. I tried showing her articles and facts proving otherwise but she literally won’t hear it. It’s going to take her losing it all to wake up, and that scares me.

Musk came out yesterday and said the real expense to the federal government is Medicare and Social Security. He called them entitlement programs and they are not entitlement programs. Everyone pays into these programs every single paycheck. People need to look at their deductions so yes, they are gonna go after our Medicare and Social Security. Call your senators call your representatives. They need seven Democratic senators to pass this bill

Expand full comment
Nancy Sloop's avatar

They are entitlement programs, because we as taxpayers have paid into these programs with every paycheck we earn. We are ENTITLED to the payouts because we all paid in. Musk can go butt a stump...and go back to Africa where he belongs.

Sandra Tuttle's avatar

Yes. It was a contract. They take taxes each week, we get money back at retirement. A social contract if you will. Thing is, Trvmp NEVER wants to pay his bills and has gotten away with it so far. Everyone knew this, but still roughly half of the people risked giving their hard earned $ to Trvmp cause they " just couldnt vote for a black woman". Fvcking A, what dolts.

In a sense it seems they are entitlements, because we are entitled to the money we paid into them for years. Musk, on the other hand, feels he's entitled to rob us all.

That all depends on your point of view. Inside the US you may see it as a distraction, here in Canada it is an assault and an act of war. He is trying to destroy us so he can take us. I think many Americans are not going to wake up until he does take away Medicare, Medicaid and SS.
