Despite everything Trump claims he is, a business man is NOT one of them. He's going to bankrupt all of us (with portfolios) as he's done with his companies, while continuing to isolate us from everyone other than those who have been our enemies for a long time.

Yes Robert you are right he’s a bad business man. Everything he touches turns to shit. I’m waiting everyday for breaking news so we can celebrate

Like an abusive captor keeping us isolated from the rest of the world so no one knows his filthy deeds. Congress needs to stop this before all hell breaks loose. I see more protests like the 60s. Many angry US citizens oppose Musk and want Trump impeached....again. I say let's do it. Dems, get off your azzes and let's get OUR coup in place and remove these grifters, these bums destroying our country.

Sadly, as it is with Republicans, the people who will be hurt the most are the people who can afford to be hurt the least. However, as they've done in the past, they'll probably blame others for their misfortune rather than themselves. Low EQ is strong with the cult.

I’m certain that WWJD is not something that has ever entered that man’s mind. There is NOTHING Christlike about him or his policies, worldview, behavior, etc. - NOTHING. As a devout Christian, I’ve been baffled by day one that anyone claiming they’ve read the Bible could get behind him.

They still won't get it. Anyone still supporting Trump does so because they are full of bigotry, racism, and hatred. They can't even grasp the fact that they're hurting themselves because they're salivating over the damage they're doing to other groups of people.

For fucks sake I wish they'd all hurry up and actually finish drinking the Kool aid already. Play out Jonestown all the way to the very end.

Actually for many of them, my sister and brother is part of them, are rich as hell and their reason is taxes and anything else that would enrich them even more.

Mary's avatar

But you can say they are very selfish people who only care when it affects them or their family! That’s not community or country

Expand full comment

The vast, vastly overwhelming majority of actual voters are not wealthy enough to benefit from Trumps tax plans. And honestly, even if they were to greatly benefit from his tax plans, the fact that they're okay with above said bigotry, racism, and hatred makes them bigoted, racist, and hateful themselves.

Expand full comment
Rhoda Ozen's avatar

They aren’t racists, but they tolerate him.

Is 8.5 million rich enough for you?

Expand full comment
Zoe's avatar

8.5 million is pocket change in the grand scheme of the elite class Trump is catering to. No, they're not rich enough to have huge benefits from Trumps tax plans, certainly not enough to justify the damage being done to other people, and the country as a whole.

You can't say somebody isn't racist if they tolerate somebody (Trump) who's actively advocating for ethnic cleansing on holy land in the middle east, actively doing everything in their power to pave the way for racial discrimination on behalf of the government itself, and promoting racist ideology. Sorry, that makes them racist. They don't have to run around saying "I hate brown people", their actions and who they support reflect racism on their part.

Expand full comment
Rhoda Ozen's avatar

You’re generalizing in a way that makes you feel you’ve justified in what you’re saying.

And I understand about tolerating racism and this is true.

But please don’t jump down my throat when you’re demeaning my sister and brother. I don’t speak to them but I do intend to protect them when they’re being treated with contempt by you.

Good night

Zoe's avatar

I'm guessing you meant to reply to me? I'm not generalizing, I'm speaking specifically to the information you offered. I haven't jumped down your throat lol, but to say I'm demeaning people who you just admitted are fine with causing other people great suffering if it means they may benefit financially, that's a bit ridiculous.

You can "protect" them all you want. And I'll continue to speak up and advocate for the country as a whole and all of the people who are suffering as a result of what people like your siblings brought upon this country. Treating them with "contempt"? 🙄 THEY are the problems lol, you can't get mad at people for calling out selfish abhorrent behavior. They made their choice and they will be rightfully judged for it.

But maybe reflect on why you think people who choose to cause others suffering are worth defending.

My daughter is AfroCubano, my youngest was murdered, she was Turkish. My family is a mish mosh of people. I am aware of racism and how my daughters had to face a great deal of prejudice in their lives. I’m very touchy about certain things that have to do with my family.

But I’m anxious enough by all that is going on around us. And due to my age I have insomnia. When I’ve been awake for two days in a row I’m reaching high anxiety and I’m not myself.

But I’m not going to do this back and forth with you.

Zoe's avatar

For the sake of your own daughter, please make an effort to learn and understand what racism looks like and how it effects us. I am black myself. You seem to not understand the nuances of racism, particularly covert racism. I hope you don't bring your daughter around your racist siblings.

If you don't want to do a back and forth, then don't reply. Especially if you're going to continue to excuse racism and fascism under the guise of prioritizing financial prosperity.

While some of Trump's billionaire pals will feel the stock market downturn as will upper middle class people with investments and 401Ks, the majority of Trump supporters won't be hit with the fallout from his tarrifs until prices for staples rise significantly. Similarly his supporters won't realize what he has done with DOGE until their Medicaid and Social Security are cut. I won't shed so much as one tear for them.
