All I want is one, just one day without major historical events. As a millennial, I’m tired…

I want to be BORED. I am TIRED of living in interesting times. I am 50, so far I had either personally witnessed or witnessed by proxy: Chernobyl disaster, Challenger disaster, fall of the Soviet Union, I don't know how many school shootings, 9/11, Iraq war, annexation of Crimea, full-scale invasion of Ukraine, COVID, Hurricane Helene, recent fires in Western North Carolina, and of course, Trump 1.0 and - in progress - Trump 2.0. I am SO DONE. Stick a fork in me.

Ditto....same here....I was a kid, but I remember the Nixon Watergate fiasco and him resigning. I was very young but remember jfk's assassination, rfk assassination, mlk assassination.....Charles Manson and Ted Bundy....all those horrific serial killers....but THIS shit with the orange Mussolini is off the charts. I'm no longer able to sleep at night, it's affecting my health, all this nonstop dystopian hellscape we're living in. 😭

See, you totally get it. And none of this includes whatever goes on in your personal life. Because we all still have to function, do our jobs, take care of our families. For example, my mother's cancer returned the year after Chernobyl (not a coincidence), and we lost her between that and the fall of the Soviet Union, and then my favorite aunt died the year OF the fall of the Soviet Union.

When 9/11 happened, followed by the backlash first against Muslims and then against all immigrants, I was still in the immigration system and terrified.

I was sworn in as a US Citizen just before 2008 election and President Obama was the first US President I voted for. That was a time of great hope, and I miss it.

And stuff like that happens to everyone - we have to adult while the world is falling to pieces.

I'm so sorry about your mother and aunt, that's always hard to cope with....I'm glad you are an American citizen, it's beautiful people like you who make the country proud. Somehow, we'll have to stay strong and do our best to survive.....we cannot let them win, we can't let them rewrite the history books either. They're already trying to do that. Hang in there 🙏💕

I feel you. I'm 68. Retired last fall and seeing my 401K disappear is frightening.

Not only my shrinking life savings, but seeing and feeling the division between family and friends is more than stressful. I never thought American's could be so hateful and uncaring for fellow human beings. I guess I was naive or blind to it all these years.

I did attend a Hands Off protest on Saturday with my daughter and granddaughter. It was comforting to see so many people protesting against this current regime and the injustices they have bestowed upon our country. It broke my heart to see the hateful and lying responses from friends and neighbors concerning our protest but I am more determined than ever to continue to fight for my children and grandchildren.

I went to the march in NYC and it was great to be with so many like minded people. All age attendance. Happy surprise how many folks were out in the rain and happy to be there just like me.

It is tiring! It's essential work out, spend time outside, have fun, do the things you love to do, read a limited amount of news and turn that into action. If we inundate ourselves with the news and lose balance it is not sustainable. We all have to keep our balance daily so we can fight what is happening but be happy warriors and meanwhile keep showing up for ourselves and the people in our lives. Take good care of yourself!

Very sadly, a man committed suicide on the train tracks not far from where I live and his sons died trying to save him. We may never know (and it's not my place to know), but I've been wondering if it's related to all the chaos 47 has created and the damage he and his administration are causing. From what I've read, this man was a very kind soul and a beloved friend to many in our community. He worked helping unhoused people, so I imagine he was seeing the suffering from a different perspective than most. I hate to even think about reading more stories like this...it's so overwhelmingly devastating. 🥺💔😭🙏🏻
