Tesla Stock Crashes
Tesla’s stock is taking a severe hit, plummeting over 12% in a single trading session. That number is only growing. Investors are panicking as concerns mount over declining sales, intensified regulatory scrutiny, and growing competition in the electric vehicle (EV) market. The stock drop erases billions from Tesla’s market capitalization, raising fresh questions about the company’s long-term stability. Just this year, Tesla stock is down more than 35%.
Massive Cyberattack Hits Twitter
As if financial troubles weren’t enough, Musk’s social media platform, Twitter (X), was rocked by a massive cyberattack today. The breach has raised alarms about the platform’s security infrastructure. While details are still emerging, Elon Musk claims that this attack was a coordinated attack by potentially a foreign government. If you recall, Musk previously conducted mass layoffs that slashed Twitter’s security and moderation teams.
Tesla Boycotts
Tesla’s financial troubles are being compounded by plummeting sales across major international markets. In Germany, Tesla sales nosedived by 59.5% in January 2025 and a staggering 76.3% in February compared to the previous year, signaling a dramatic decline in demand. The situation in Australia is similarly bleak, with Tesla deliveries dropping 65.5% in the first two months of 2025. Meanwhile, in China—one of Tesla’s most crucial markets—sales fell by 49.16% in February, reflecting a significant market share decline.
Global Tesla Boycotts Disrupt Sales and Stores
Adding to Musk’s woes, Tesla is facing intensifying boycotts across multiple countries. Protests have erupted at Tesla stores in Europe, North America, and parts of Asia, leading to temporary closures and disrupted operations. The boycotts appear to be driven by a mix of concerns—ranging from Tesla’s labor practices to Musk’s controversial political statements and involvement in global affairs.
From Ohio to California, demonstrators gathered outside Tesla showrooms, with some protests attracting a large police presence. In New York, at least nine NYPD officers were seen protecting a single Cybertruck while at least six protesters were detained. Reports have also surfaced of property damage against Teslas, further escalating tensions between the company and the public.
In some regions, consumer advocacy groups are urging buyers to steer clear of Tesla, citing allegations of poor worker conditions and environmental concerns related to lithium mining for EV batteries. Meanwhile, political tensions have fueled further backlash, with some governments considering incentives for Tesla’s rivals.
A bad day for Elon is a good day for the American People.
Couldn't happen to a better guy.
