Now, let me explain what’s happening:

This evening, Elon Musk sent out a tweet announcing that, in alignment with Donald Trump’s policies, the federal government would be sending emails to all federal employees. These emails would request a list of tasks completed over the past week, with the implication that failure to respond would be treated as a resignation.

Approximately two hours later, federal agencies sent out emails instructing employees to submit a five-point list detailing their accomplishments from the past week, with a deadline of Monday at 11:59 PM EST. However, unlike Musk’s tweet, the official email did not mention that a failure to respond would be considered a resignation.

WHAT THAT MEANS: IF FEDERAL EMPLOYEES DON’T READ ELON MUSK’S TWITTER, THEY WON’T KNOW!

AFGE, the union representing federal employees, issued the following statement shortly:

“Once again, Elon Musk and the Trump Administration have shown their utter disdain for federal employees and the critical services they provide to the American people.

“It is cruel and disrespectful to hundreds of thousands of veterans who are wearing their second uniform in the civil service to be forced to justify their job duties to this out-of-touch, privileged, unelected billionaire who has never performed one single hour of honest public service in his life.

“AFGE will challenge any unlawful terminations of our members and federal employees across the country.”

"Currently, federal employees who aren't active on Twitter are left completely in the dark. To make matters worse, this email was sent on a Saturday, meaning many won’t even see it until Monday. And that's not all—employees on leave, vacation, or sick time may miss it entirely. This is why I urgently need your help.
