This man has lost all sense of reality. He is so full of bigotry and hate that he can’t stop trying to hurt people that don’t look like him. Congressional Republicans have failed to uphold their oaths of office. They must be removed and replaced.

Revitalizing Alcatraz, specifically the main prison building, is expected to take several years and cost millions of dollars. The current structural upgrade project, including the stabilization and rehabilitation of the main prison building, is projected to be completed by the fall of 2027. The cost estimate for this specific project is around $48.6 million. Additionally, a separate project to stabilize the 1939 Alcatraz Island wharf is expected to be completed in the winter of 2025, with a cost estimate of $40,231,04

It's been closed since early 1970's. AIM (American Indian Movement) invaded it and holed up for quite awhile. (want to say at least 6 months). With that said, I'm sure it's filled to the brim with lead paint and asbestos, no central AC, no modern data and communications, etc that is required in modern prisons. It would probably be cheaper to demolish existing buildings and rebuild.

I googled it says very little chance it’s not realistic due to high operating costs, structure issues, and the prisons existing role as a major tourist attraction. It was expensive to operate, even when it was a prison and cost would be even higher today due to infrastructure upgrades and maintenance. The islands buildings have deteriorated overtime requiring extensive renovations and repairs. The prison escape roof reputation has been debunked, and the islands location makes it difficult to maintain secure operations and possess challenges for waste management and sewage disposal.

🤔Hey! Remember many environmental laws have been scrapped: Trump may not have to bring as much up-to-date as some think are needed. I think Trump is doing this because his "stash them in El Salvador policy without due process" isn't getting a good reception from even the Judges he appointed!

Here's another fun thing to think about, though: Remember when Trump was musing that it might be hard to choose between electrocuted in a boat v. being eaten by sharks in the waters in which the boat is? Maybe to deter prison escapes from Alcatraz populate the waters with sharks in a mote around the island and have Trump visit in a boat with an undiscovered wiring fault to celebrate the ribbon cutting. "Oopsie!" (Oh I forgot; maybe Trump would arrive by helicopter. Maybe because he depopulated / partially defunded the FAA there might be an unfortunate crash. "Oopsie!" there too.)

Anyway to return to a semblance of gravitas: Yes, it would be hard, time consuming, expensive, take a really long time to have proper due process before a rendition process to El Salvador or anywhere or even for plain old deportation. So here are my suggestions as a lawyer:

-President Trump and friends: Actually do the hard work of proper investigations first! Has the alleged illegal alien, hard core criminal, gang member actually committed a crime for which he / she he / she is deportable? Are they actually illegal, or is there a court order preventing their deportation anywhere or to a specific country? Is he / she a US citizen or otherwise properly / permissibly in this Country? Are they actually a gang member? Is that 2 year old actually a gang member, had committed a crime for which he / she is deportable, been represented by a lawyer and guardian ad litem if their parents aren't around? You get the drift: Trump and enablers start thinking rationally and not like criminals yourselves and stop putting on a big PR "performative" show.

Maybe after proper investigation and proper winnowing down to good cases to prosecute there won't be so many to try in court. Maybe if Pres. Trump doesn't act like judge and jury sending people cruelly to El Salvador but instead sends real criminals back to countries with the rule of law for proper incarceration, then he might even have some prisoners stipulate to leaving the country without the trouble of a trial. Plea bargains are made all the time in criminal courts where rights are waived and the criminal is deported without fuss, muss, bother, great expense, or years of legal cases for Trump et al to defend his / their own unconstitutional actions.

Oh and "King Trump": You know how that darned Oath you've taken twice to protect, preserve and defend the Constitution? You should not only pay attention to the Oath--BTW one must swear to of affirm when taking an Oath because they are serious! -- but also try reading the Constitution as a whole and in all of its pesky parts other than just Second Amendment gun rights for militias. Guess what you'll find that's in the news a lot? A requirement for DUE PROCESS before life and liberty and property may be taken away AND that JOURNALISTS and many others in this country have rights too, including babies born here of non-citizen mothers!

Why do I stress the Constitution? Because if you knew it you might know that many of your Executive Orders were bound to fail from minute one... (So your time could be freed up up you just would stick with your practical and non-tyrannical promises to lower grocery prices on Day One. I'd be happy for you to treat any price gougers a little more tyrannically since when you ruined the CFPB you got rid of employees whose job it was to protect and advocate for your citizens consumers so they would not be "gouged".)
