In a post on Truth Social minutes ago, Donald Trump just made a sweeping and provocative statement: “CONGESTION PRICING IS DEAD. Manhattan, and all of New York, is SAVED. LONG LIVE THE KING!”

Donald Trump made this remark after announcing that his Department of Transportation would be ending congestion pricing in New York City. While the substance of the congestion pricing decision may spark debate, it is the language and tone surrounding the statement, particularly the declaration of himself as “the King,” that raises serious alarm bells.

By declaring himself as a king, Trump is stepping into dangerous territory.
