I urge everyone to just check out FoxNews - they are literally not reporting on anything about what he is doing, and only hit pieces on what the Democrats are doing in response. A trade war has serious consequences. When countries impose tariffs, prices on goods rise (we’ve seen our specific lists) > disrupts supply chains and hurting businesses > This leads to job losses/ economic instability/ and increased political tensions > Nations retreat into isolattion vs global cooperation > we the people shoulder the cost through higher living expenses and fewer jobs.
It doesn’t mean that there would necessarily be physical conflict. Especially with how isolated this continent is, but it doesn’t rule it out. You get economic strain but a ton more enemies + isolation from allies + competition for resources = higher risk for military escalation. Historically these are all excellent examples (political instability/ trade disputes / resource scarcity) of what leads to physical war, not just trade war.
