It is SO exhausting. I moved to Canada with my daughter but my mother and my loved ones are still in the States, and I’m constantly exhausted and worried about the state of affairs down there. It’s a daily barrage of insanity. I cannot believe this is where we are, and half the country is just… fine with it…

We have a population of approximately 341 million people in the US tRUMP only won slightly over 77 million. Simple math says approximately 264 million either voted for someone else, were unable to vote for whatever reason, did not bother to vote or were children!
One thing I am hoping for is that the "not bother" crowd gets off their duffs and votes in the midterms against this regime and that they recognize the importance of their voice being heard through their vote. I personally would like to see the end of the electoral college. (Also, one issue voters should reconsider the consequences of their myopic vision. But that is another debate.)

I learned about the Electoral College when I was about 11.. I was shocked - up until then, we had learned that in a representative democracy, We The People elected out officials. I suppose that was easier for younger students to understand? At any rate, I didn't think much of the idea at 11, and now, at 78, I still don't think much of the idea, in spite of all the people throughout the decades trying to "explain" it to me, as if the only reason I didn't like it, was because I didn't understand.
You can see that people are getting off their duffs and voting. There have been elections going on and Democrats are winning by landslides. I write postcards for Activate America and there are several campaigns we are writing for. I attach stickers saying "Want the facts? Real news? Watch MeidasTouch on YouTube and the Parnas Perspective. Fox News is fake news." I am hoping people read those stickers and go to YouTube looking for them.

Honestly, despite all the hardship I went through as an immigrant to get my US citizenship, if it were just me, I would move too. As is... family ties, responsibilities, taking care of other people - all the usual things make a move to another country difficult.

I subscribe to fair.org among other places because FAIR often has articles discussing the media coverage - and non-coverage - of a specific issue, discussing how the words they use and what they fail to mention show various biases. They quote passages from ABC, MSNBC, the Washington Post, etc., all on the same topic and compare them for accuracy. One of the most telling areas is how media have talked about Israel and Gaza. It has made me more aware in many ways, including paying more attention to the choice of adjectives used and statements that reveal almost nothing except the assumptions they are not questioning, if you pay attention. This is the sort of analysis that ought to be taught in high school, but you won't find it in text books or many teacher-led discussions or assignments because some group of parents will object that they are teaching their kids liberalism or some such political ideology.

I’m elderly. But I can peacefully protest and walk in protests and I can provide facts in the face of lies.
I can give morale support to trustworthy journalists and buy a few subscriptions to keep them here.

Since much of what is seen on the screen infringes on basic rights and can be potentially dangerous, people are more tuned in. In a vigorous way! This is adding to the fatigue; a toned down version of how ptsd starts. The smart and aware are not comfortable and many are scared.
I don't know how you're not losing your mind. I leave my phone for a couple hours and come back to a massive hit of more insanity. Thank you for your diligence in reporting.
