I promised you from day one that I’d always be honest with you. So here it goes.
Tonight, the weight of the news is hitting me hard. It’s been a relentless stream lately—helicopter crashes, mass tragedies, immigration crackdowns, political chaos in Washington. Story after story, update after update. I know you’ve felt it too, because you’re here reading, paying attention, staying informed even when it’s exhausting.
I love this job more than anything. It’s a privilege to do it full-time, and that’s only possible because of you. Your subscriptions, your support, your trust — they mean everything. Truly.
But even the best jobs come with their realities. And for journalists, that reality is often grief, heaviness, and the emotional weight of bearing witness to the worst moments of people’s lives. Some nights are heavier than others. This is one of those nights.
So I just wanted to be real with you about that.
Also: I’m probably going to take a break on April 16th — it’s my birthday. I’m hoping the news gods give us all a breather that day. Please let there be no breaking news. Just cake.
I’ll be back right after, and I have some exciting projects and announcements coming soon — things I’ve been working on behind the scenes, only made possible by your continued support.
Thanks for being with me since the beginning. For reading, for sharing, for caring. It means more than you know.
See you tomorrow.
Unless something wild happens on the 16th. Then... we’ll see.
Take time for yourself! We all support that and will continue to support you.
We don’t want you to burn out.
Must have balance.
Take care of yourself Aaron!! 💕
