In a bombshell report published this morning, The Atlantic released the full Signal message thread that has rocked the nation and exposed a web of deception at the highest levels of government. The thread, concerning the recent U.S. strike on Yemen, suggests that the White House has not only misled the public but that key intelligence officials may have lied to Congress.
Right now, these updates are coming just from me, but if you want to support my work and help grow this team, become a paid subscriber today. Let’s redefine independent media and make sure the truth always gets out:
The leaked texts reveal that Pete Hegseth, now serving as Secretary of Defense, shared highly classified military operational plans in a Signal group chat. The messages included precise timelines for F-18 fighter jet takeoffs, scheduled first strikes, and real-time strike coordination—details that intelligence and military officials universally regard as sensitive and restricted to top-level clearance.
The implications are enormous. Not only does this represent a severe breach of operational security, but it also casts a harsh light on top intelligence officials. Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence, and John Ratcliffe, now serving as CIA Director, may have provided false or misleading testimony to Congress regarding the nature of the operation and the integrity of internal communications.
The fallout was immediate. Karoline Leavitt, White House Press Secretary, attempted to downplay the revelations, stating:
“The Atlantic has conceded: these were NOT ‘war plans.’ This entire story was another hoax written by a Trump-hater who is well-known for his sensationalist spin.”
National Security Advisor Michael Waltz echoed the talking points, claiming:
“No locations. No sources & methods. NO WAR PLANS. Foreign partners had already been notified that strikes were imminent. BOTTOM LINE: President Trump is protecting America and our interests.”
But the facts say otherwise. The texts show Pete Hegseth relaying operational details in real time—information that not only undermines claims of transparency but may have put lives at risk.
One of the most troubling aspects of the leak centers on Steve Witkoff, Donald Trump’s envoy to the Middle East, was in Russia during the Signal conversation.
“I only had with me a secure phone provided by the government for special circumstances when you travel to regions where you do not want your devices compromised.”
Intelligence officials now fear that Russia may have gained access to sensitive information as a result.
This breach has sparked bipartisan outrage and mounting calls for accountability. Many believe Hegseth’s resignation is now inevitable. But as the situation unfolds, deeper questions loom about how much the White House knew—and how far officials were willing to go to keep the truth from the public.
They are literally still gaslighting.. Do they think we're all stupid that Jeffrey Goldberg is just going to make up text messages he wouldn't even know anything about language wise? This is the most corrupt and incompetent administration I've ever seen but what do you expect from a convicted felon running the show?
Great report, Aaron! Someone needs to hold these people accountable.
