The Mainstream Media Wants Us to Fail. Here’s Why We Won’t.
Read this full article. It's personal.
Let’s cut the bullshit: the mainstream media wants me to fail. Not because I’ve lied. Not because I’ve manipulated facts. But because I refuse to play by their rules.
I don’t take marching orders from cable news executives. I don’t shape my reporting to fit the political priorities of corporate sponsors. And I’m not going to water down the truth just to be invited back on some Sunday show panel or get a quote in Politico Playbook.
Here’s the part that matters: they want me gone because I won’t bend. But I can’t keep going without you.
I don’t have a multimillion-dollar advertising contract with Pfizer. I don’t have a hedge fund-backed newsroom, or a glossy D.C. office with a rooftop bar. What I have is this platform, my independence, and readers like you. If you value that—if you want independent journalism that follows the facts, not the cocktail circuit—please consider subscribing. Your subscription isn’t a tip. It’s fuel. It’s how I keep going.
Because I’m telling stories that the media refuses to touch. And if we don’t build independent media that tells the truth, they’ll win. They’ll control the narrative. Again.
Have you noticed what’s dominating the D.C. conversation right now? It’s not the Supreme Court being ignored. It’s not the First Amendment under threat. It’s not the potential loss of healthcare for millions. It’s not even the corruption unfolding in plain sight.
No—what’s lighting up the Axios newsletters and CNN airwaves is President Biden’s mental acuity. Let’s be real: President Biden isn’t even in office. But you wouldn’t know that from the way the press is behaving.
Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson are about to publish a book attacking Biden. And suddenly, that’s the narrative. That’s the story getting traction with editors, producers, and political insiders. It’s not just some idle D.C. gossip—it’s a full-blown media operation.
Why? Because it sets the tone for what the mainstream press wants the next three years to look like. CNN, Axios, Politico—they’re not just reporting news. They’re shaping the battlefield.
One note. This isn’t to defend or criticize President Biden. You can have your own opinions of him. But President Biden isn’t President anymore, and the mainstream media should stop covering him like he is.
Just take a moment and imagine this:
What if President Biden accepted a $400 million jet from Qatar?
What if Democrats pushed Medicaid cuts that would force 13.7 million Americans to lose their healthcare?
What if Biden’s DOJ used the legal system to go after journalists who reported critically on him?
You know the answer. It would be wall-to-wall coverage. We’d have special reports, congressional hearings live-streamed on every major network, panels stacked with former prosecutors and retired generals debating the collapse of democracy.
We saw it in 2016. We saw it in 2020. We saw it again in 2024. When the shoe is on the left foot, the media is in full attack mode. But when the far right tramples over the Constitution, criminalizes dissent, or brazenly proposes authoritarian policies?
Crickets. Or worse—"both sides" coverage.
Here’s the truth: Donald Trump and his allies are openly pushing an agenda that undermines the First Amendment, rewrites our governing norms, and ignores the Supreme Court when it’s inconvenient. He’s laying the groundwork to crush dissent, neuter the judiciary, and turn the executive branch into a personal weapon.
That’s the real story.
But instead of covering that, they’re laser-focused on Biden. Not because it's newsworthy—but because it’s useful.
Useful for Republicans. Useful for advertisers. Useful for a media structure that thrives on conflict, not clarity.
This is exactly why I stay independent. Because Americans deserve journalism that isn’t for sale. They deserve facts, not punditry. Truth, not narrative spin.
I’m trying to bring back something this country desperately needs: a modern-day version of the Walter Cronkite era, where the news wasn’t about performative outrage or ideological warfare—it was about informing the public.
But I can’t do it alone. Subscriptions are the only thing keeping this work alive. No billionaires. No corporations. Just us.
If you believe in independent, fearless reporting that doesn’t kiss the ring of D.C. elites, subscribe now. Don’t wait until the next scandal is too big to ignore. Don’t wait until it’s too late to fight back.
Thank you Aaron 💙 We are with you all the way 🙏🏽 You're an amazing journalist and I trust your reporting 100%.
Aaron - the mainstream media is so bad, I do NOT allow it on my TV sets at home, I look away when I see Fox and CNN at the gym and taken all website links off. My only source of news is the TRUTH: you, Meidas, etc. I used to watch CNN all the time and now loathe management and the anchors. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! We have your back!
