The Future Of TikTok Will Likely Be Decided Tomorrow
As an independent journalist, I will be on all platforms no matter what happens.
The future of TikTok is coming, and it is likely coming tomorrow. The United States Supreme Court currently has one opinion day on its calendar: Wednesday, January 15, 2025. When the Court goes to issue decisions, it notifies the public ahead of time. As a result, there is significant speculation that tomorrow will be the day the TikTok ban decision is released.
Now, that doesn’t mean it is coming tomorrow. If the Supreme Court issues an Administrative Stay or a Temporary Injunction, both could come at anytime. Theoretically, the Supreme Court could even announce an additional opinion day on Thursday or Friday. And, there is a minute chance the Supreme Court just does not issue a decision before January 19th, although that’s highly improbable.
In any event, I wanted to take a minute this morning to talk to you about the work that I will do in the event TikTok is banned. First, I will be posting timely videos and news updates on all of my other social platforms including YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, Bluesky, and yes, Substack. This platform will also include one or two posts per day of long form writing, like this piece, where I give my thoughts about pertinent issues in the news and end off by giving you a quick rundown of all the news you may have missed. If you want to support my work, please consider becoming a paid subscriber today (remember, I’m not funded by a billionaire):
With that, this morning’s piece will be a bit shorter given the heightened anxieties many have over the future of TikTok, along with some of the other craziness happening in Washington, D.C. right now. So, here’s all the stories you may have missed over the past 24 hours:

I like the format, but like anything new, it takes time to get used to. It's like breaking in a new pair of shoes.
