Tesla Protests Grow Across The World

Tesla protests grow across the world on the Global Day of Action, the Wisconsin Appellate court allows Elon Musk's pay for vote scheme to move forward, and RFK Jr. fires HIV epidemic prevention staff.

Good evening! Today is March 29th, and here’s your evening news rundown. Before I jump in—I want to say thank you. My work is 100% funded by you. Please consider becoming a paid subscriber today.

With that, here is all the news you missed:

  • Last night, Attorney General Josh Kaul asked the Court of Appeals to urgently intervene before Elon Musk’s Sunday event in Wisconsin, after a lower court judge refused to hear his motion to block Musk from making additional payments to voters. But the appeals court has now rejected Kaul’s request, clearing the way for Musk to move forward with $2 million in payments at tomorrow night’s event in Green Bay.

  • A coordinated series of over 200 "Tesla Takedown" protests occurred across the United States and the world today as part of a "Global Day of Action" against Elon Musk's involvement with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). These demonstrations targeted Tesla dealerships and service centers, with participants expressing opposition to Musk's role in implementing significant federal budget cuts under Donald Trump's administration.

  • Johns Hopkins University has instructed its staff not to intervene if U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents come to campus seeking to detain community members. This directive has sparked concern among students and faculty, who fear it may compromise the university's commitment to protecting undocumented individuals within its community.

  • Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. plans to lay off the entire staff of the federal government's Office of Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS Policy (OIDP).

  • Andrew Tate's ex-girlfriend, Brianna Stern, has filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles accusing him of sexual assault and battery, alleging that he choked and beat her during a March encounter at the Beverly Hills Hotel, resulting in post-concussion syndrome.

  • Wall Street’s 2025 performance thus far:
    🔻 Dow -2.3%
    🔻 S&P 500 -5.2%
    🔻 Nasdaq -10.3%
    🔻 Russell 2000 -9.3%
    🔻 Bitcoin -11.8%

  • A small aircraft crashed into a residential home in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, on Saturday afternoon, resulting in a significant fire. There were no survivors.

  • According to the Washington Post, Donald Trump is urging his advisers to implement more aggressive tariff measures ahead of the April 2 deadline, despite opposition from Wall Street and Capitol Hill allies advocating for a more cautious approach.

  • Donald Trump has signed an executive order revoking collective bargaining rights for a significant portion of federal employees.

  • HHS Secretary RFK Jr. sparked backlash after suggesting West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey should lose 30 pounds and take part in monthly public weigh-ins—comments widely criticized as fat-shaming.

See you in the morning.
