There’s no news update tonight. And maybe—just maybe—that’s a good thing. The news cycle finally slowed down enough for me to catch my breath. I’m taking my wife out to dinner and stepping away from the screen for a bit. If you’ve been glued to the headlines like I usually am, I highly recommend doing the same.
But before I unplug, I want to take a minute to offer a quick PSA—and a small ask. If you find these posts valuable, if you believe in the work we’re doing to break down the noise and elevate the signal, please consider subscribing. Paid or free, every subscription helps this work continue, and helps amplify the stories that too often get buried.
Because here’s the thing: we live in a 24-hour news cycle that churns through important stories with dangerous speed. Just two days ago, House Republicans passed a bill that would gut Medicaid, Medicare, and SNAP—slashing healthcare access for more than 13 million Americans. And yet, just 48 hours later, barely anyone is talking about it.
I’m not going to stop talking about it. Neither should you.
Today, someone close to me shared that they spoke with a high school student on the West Coast who said I was their number one news source. That hit me hard. It reminded me why this matters. Why we matter. Because we are building something together—a community that’s paying attention when it counts. We’re getting young people interested in the news. We’re reaching people who’ve sworn off cable and punditry and politics as usual. And we’re doing it without corporate backers or ad-driven algorithms—just readers like you.
So thank you. For reading, for caring, and for continuing to show up. We’re making a difference. And that gives me hope.
Back tomorrow.

You are MY number one news source. ENJOY THE NIGHT OFF! You more than deserve it!
I was telling a manager at the hardware store that I follow you every day. He is 26 and he said, “Me, too.” That made me happy.
