He’s doing all these firings this week because No Kings this weekend. He’s trying to keep us in a passive, frightened posture.

Bikracer's avatar

I’m definitely frightened and so are my friends but we will be marching on the 18th.

Lea Menzies's avatar

I understand I am to but I've got to Stay Strong ". We the American People need to Stand Together 🇺🇸"

Nancy Murphy's avatar

That's exactly what he wants. Stand strong. He's weak.

Peter Tey's avatar

The orangeman doesn't know that by doing crazy things he only creates more anger, and spirit to resist, march, protest, etc

M Franco's avatar

YES!! You can't be courageous without fear. Courage means confronting fear and showing up anyway. We're in this together. I'll be marching, too! =0)

Peter Tey's avatar

Excellent, that's the spirit

Peter Tey's avatar

That's the right spirit, don't give in to fear. That's what he wants

Peter Tey's avatar

Remember the boycott of Disney, in 3 days Disney lost several billion dollars and Jimmy Kimmel was re-installed.TOGETHER WE ARE STRONGER THAN WE THINK

Peter Tey's avatar

Historically, 3.5% of the population can end a regime. For us that means about 11 million. So let's fill the streets with protests. And we can go further with civil disobedience, boycotts, general strikes, etc

Carie's avatar

Fear in action is powerful!

Karen's avatar

Me too! Sad that we have to feel this way. Sad most Americans are now living uptight.

Bonnie Council's avatar

I refuse to be frightened. Never let 'em see you sweat is my motto.

You got this! ♥️

Toni's avatar

That might backfire, because more federal workers may join the protests. I hope so.

You have an MD (from where?), a PhD (from where and in what?), a JD (from where?) and an MBA (from where?). No A.B.? At this point I think I'm ahead.

I have an A.B from the University of California at Berkeley in Classical Greek. Your statement is full of inaccuracies, which are too many to list. Every single statement and question of yours contains inaccuracies and out and out falsehoods.

Bullshit. Literally none of this is true. Again, as someone who has been through the immigration process - nobody pays the immigrants' healthcare bills. They are expected to pay like everyone else. Usually out of pocket.

Would the medical board and local police department like to know about this man proselytized dangerously xenophobic views and spreads hate speech? I mean, considering he is an MD, a legal consultant on various cases of medical malpractice, police investigations, etc. - essentially an expert witness - wouldn't his views potentially compromise his objectivity, should the parties involved be immigrants or Democrats?

Maria K.'s avatar

Have you been to Russia? Ever? I suggest you go visit. No, do it. If you love it so much. Or North Korea. Try that on. For size.

Stop parroting the FOX news BS. There are no millions crossing the border, immigrants are not eligible for Medicaid and Medicare, or the Food Stamps, or free housing or anything of the sort. I know that because I am an immigrant and had to familiarize myself extensively with what I did and did not qualify for.

Incidentally, if you are an MD, what's your NPI and taxonomy?

Margaret B's avatar

If you believe in completely unfettered capitalism, I urge you to read the book, _The Privatization of Everything_ by Donald Cohen and Allen Mikaelian.

Russia is not totally socialist and the US is not totally capitalist. When the mostly-Communist Soviet Union fell, there was a rush to private industry that made some people obscenely rich. There is much I don't know, but you may find this interesting:

"Putin offered the oligarchs a deal: bend to my authority, stay out of my way, and you can keep your mansions, superyachts, private jets, and multibillion-dollar corporations (corporations that, just a few years before, had been owned by the Russian government). In the coming years, the oligarchs who reneged on this deal and undermined Putin would be thrown into a Siberian prison or be forced into exile or die in suspicious circumstances. The loyalists who remained — and the new ones who got filthy rich during Putin's long reign — became like ATM machines for the president and his allies."

https://www.npr.org/sections/money/2022/03/29/1088886554/how-putin-conquered-russias-oligarchy

Trump is trying to do the same thing as Putin did. That's why he wants control over media. Larry Ellison and his son are strong Putin supporters. They are buying TikTok through a deal brokered by Trump. Trump has already had a number of private businesses pay tribute. What were those $1 million dollar inauguration contributions all about? Trump doesn't really need private industry to make him personally super-wealthy though. Steve Witkoff and his son helped him set up a Cryptocurrency business that is already taking care of that.

You would do well to wonder why the government now owns a 10% stake in Intel. Trump has no qualms about government ownership of business so that the government can control it more easily. What he doesn't want is public money "wasted" on public goods that don't generate large profits, such as education, libraries, crime prevention programs, and any kind of safety nets for those who cannot work, either temporarily due to loss of a job, temporary illness or accident, or permanently due to any cause. As Joni Ernst said, "We are all going to die," the implication that if the government doesn't help people with basic needs so that they can keep living, it doesn't matter. After all, they aren't making the people in power any money but instead take money away (except that that money gets spent, giving other people salaries, but they apparently can't think through anything so complicated).

Please do the research to see if you are actually saying anything true or just regurgitating urban or Trump administration fiction.

So many bold claims, so little connection to reality. Democrats aren’t trying to turn America into North Korea, and none of those countries you listed are even socialist in the way you describe. Also, immigrants risk their lives to come to the US, not to get free stuff, but because capitalism with some safety nets actually works. But sure, tell us more about how Russia’s system is what Democrats want. 🙄

Interesting theory. But government employees include teachers, firefighters, police officers, veterans, postal workers, people with a wide range of political views. Their votes aren’t anywhere near 80–95% one way, and their pay comes from budgets passed by both parties. The idea that millions of them are secretly voting in unison to prop up Democrats sounds less like politics and more like a conspiracy thriller. Did you forget to take your meds…

We have amazing public services ( universal health care, a robust social service system, affordable education at all levels, excellent public transportation, etc) We also are rated no 1 in the world on the Global Innovation Index which ranks countries on ‘their ability to foster research and entrepreneurship’ (See Global Innovation Index) We have almost full employment and strong unions that insure every worker has a living wage and benefits. We invest in our people, their ingenuity, their future and their peace of mind. William, on Thursday, Trump openly threatened to use the government shutdown to cut federal funding to DEMOCRATIC-run states and cities. (Notice he did not threaten any REPUBLICAN-run states and cities.) That's not policy; that's petty, childish retribution.

Virtuous Lady's avatar

Blue States should stop paying Federal taxes. Everything Djudas does is petty and toddler-like, even his conversations.

Diana's avatar

I agree in principle, but it's complicated. While the courts have said that the White House can't withhold funding, they have also said that you can't refuse to pay taxes. We know that Trump doesn't obey the law, but he's got the DOJ and the military in his pocket right now. So—a rock and a hard place.

You have no idea how the oil industry works. In order for it to be profitable the price of oil needs to be between $68-$70 a barrel. Oil companies can't afford to drill drill drill because the market will be flooded and it will no longer be profitable. Oilfield wages and the the price of equipment will not go down no matter how much you drill.

I have friends that work in the oil field. While there can be a demand if it costs more to produce that it can be sold for they quit drilling and import oil from other countries. Fuel will never be cheap again. While the price may fluctuate you will never see fuel under $2.00 unless it's some type of promotion for a store opening or something of that nature.

Yes, I remember seeing with disgust his making fun of a disabled reporter in 2016. I have asked myself ever since then how anyone who claims to be a Christian could ever support this cruel man. Also, he has apparently wrangled over offering financial support to the disabled son of his nephew, Fred Trump III, the brother of Mary.

Virtuous Lady's avatar

Politics has nothing to do with being a Christian. We are suppose to vote using wisdom. Your comment is very true though. A lot of folks are hypocrites.

Sue's avatar

He has always despised people with disabilities. He said of veterans who have lost limbs or been maimed in combat, "No one wants to see that," and would not allow them to be in his military parade -- so much the better for them, I think! Back in his real-estate shyster days, he told the architect of Trump tower that he didn't want braille characters by the elevator buttons because "it's ugly." When reminded that the accommodations for the disabled were required by law, he said "There won't be any blind people living in Trump tower." There's a certain karma in the fact that his face now slumps to the right and he drags his right leg.

Ellie still in the mix in 26's avatar

interested observer's avatar

@Aaron Parnas - the facts that you need to be reporting, in every post every day, are (1) that the Epstein Files contain the truth that could bring down the person causing and/or exacerbating the majority of the most severe problems plaguing the country, and (2) because they are terrified of the truth, they are intentionally wreaking havoc in hundreds of different ways daily to prevent them from being released and to distract the media from reporting on them.

Now two convicted felons who belong in prison for their laundry lists of crimes are about to be preening in front of cameras for a photo op over a sham cease fire agreement to further distract attention from their malevolence. This is absolutely disgusting and nothing to celebrate.

If you are fearless and won’t back down then do precisely what they do not want you to do -report daily on the facts that are most damaging to them and can bring about their ruin - the Epstein Files.

Leia's avatar

We know that, though. @Aaron Parnas informs us about important things as they happen and it is up to us to keep the narrative going. Aaron works around the clock to deliver breaking news to his followers. As followers, it’s our job to spread the word and perpetuate the importance of the Epstein files as we do it

interested observer's avatar

Respectfully, few people reading this Substack likely have the followings or platform visibility that @Aaron Parnas has. Hence why it is absolutely critical that he push the Epstein Files in every post every day. Those in power positions are reading him, not his Comments section.

Leia's avatar

I agree, but I don’t think he should be criticized for not mentioning it every time he is reporting. His content is also available on other platforms so if people repost and share, it will reach people who wouldn’t see it otherwise

interested observer's avatar

Respectfully, it's not criticism. It's encouragement in the form of a helpful suggestion which can make a tangible difference in the discourse. Particularly during a time when nothing is happening, on purpose, solely to avoid a successful vote on the discharge petition, which will likely lead to a majority in the House voting for the Epstein Files to be released in their entirety.

We have a country to save here, no time to lose or waste.
