NEWS: Over 1,000 Anti-Trump Protests Planned, and Today I Spoke With the Leaders of The Movement

Today, I had the incredible opportunity to speak in person with several hundred organizers and movement leaders from across the country — a packed room of grassroots energy and strategic brilliance, brought together by Indivisible (pictures coming soon). I was joined on stage by two powerful voices in this moment: Leigh McGowan and Antonio Arellano.

This wasn’t just a gathering — it was a flashpoint. A convergence of people who aren’t content to sit back and watch history unfold. These are the people shaping it. These are the people who helped organize the major anti-Trump and anti-Musk protests on April 5th. They’re also behind what’s coming next: the No Kings Day protest on June 14th — a day that promises to send a message heard in every corner of this country, and around the world.

Before I go further, if you want to be part of this movement — if you want real-time updates from the ground, if you want to hear the stories the corporate media won't tell, if you believe in the power of people-powered journalism — I invite you to subscribe to this newsletter.

The energy was electric. Not performative, not staged — real. Focused. Fired up. These were not passive news consumers. These were organizers, educators, students, retirees, artists — people who understand that facts aren’t just something you absorb. Facts are something you share. Something you spread. Something you build movements with.

My message to them was simple: The old guard of the media is failing us. But new media will save us.

We’ve seen it over and over again. Legacy media, obsessed with clicks, access, and selling books, has slowly become less about truth and more about survival. They follow power. They equivocate when they should confront. They look away when things get uncomfortable — or inconvenient to their corporate overlords.

But people aren’t waiting anymore. We are turning to each other. More and more Americans are getting their news through social platforms, independent creators, newsletters like this one — media that is immediate, uncensored, and accountable to the people, not shareholders.

On April 5th, I was on the ground, covering protests that mainstream outlets largely ignored or oversimplified. I shared the signs, the chants, the voices, the context — the human reality. And on June 14th, I’ll be doing it again. Across the country and across the globe, Americans will gather and make their voices heard. I’ll be there, capturing it, elevating it, and sharing it with all of you — because we cannot rely on institutions that are invested in business-as-usual to document a movement that demands radical change.

And the people in that room today? They get it.

They know that movements don’t live on cable news. They live in community meetings, on sidewalks and social feeds, in protest chants and comment threads. They know that media isn't just something we watch — it’s something we make. Every post, every clip, every story passed from neighbor to neighbor is an act of resistance.

So here’s my promise to you:

I will bring you the voices and visuals the mainstream won’t. I will use this platform — and others — to make sure the truth doesn’t get buried under spin.

And I hope you’ll join me. Not just as a reader. But as part of the movement to reclaim media for the people.
