This afternoon, I had the chance to speak with Isaiah Martin, a Gen Z Democrat campaigning for Congress in Texas’ 18th Congressional District. The seat was left vacant earlier this year following the passing of Democratic Congressman Sylvester Turner, and a special election will be held this November to fill the remainder of his term.
I reached out to Isaiah because we’re witnessing a powerful shift in American politics: Gen Z is stepping up and running for office at unprecedented rates. Maxwell Frost made history as the first Gen Z member of Congress—and he almost certainly won’t be the last. Isaiah is part of this rising wave, and he's not alone.
