If churches are going to be in politics they need to pay taxes. No tax exempt. All the tax money can then be used for people who need help.

Aren’t churches supposed to help those in need? When did these “supposed” Christians stop following the teachings of Christ?

Given our government has removed the separation between church and state and infused it with Christian Nationalists, the new allowance is no surprise. But heaven forbid that a non-profit should speak out against the government or that they make too many charitable contributions to help people (capped in the budget bill just passed).

We called it "recovering Catholic" . . . although I had many good, smart friends who still enjoyed the ritual. They winked at some of the other stuff, and frowned at the priest scandal, the enforcement of which they heartily endorsed. I never could figure it out. Fool me once . . .

Except the word recovering implies going back to the status quo. There is no going back, nothing to recover. Just enlightened decision that obviously was directed by the Holy Spirit and not by a pope, cardinal, bishop or priest.

Churchgoers often say that those of us who no longer attend have “lost our way.” I feel the opposite, that it is so many in these churches are determined to have a belief system and community that they are the ones who are now lost. Religion has caused so many wars, I feel it has become a convenient excuse to persecute those who aren’t like you…

There have always been preachers & churches that walk their own path..GOD/JESUS is big busines that pays quite well..I can tell u truthfully if my church hits the political seen I'm out of it..A church is suppose to represent a Christian community..but u do not need a Christian community /building to connect to GOD..GOD is with in u & maybe just maybe this is meant to happen so that we can remove urselfves from influence & spend time alone getting back to just GOD r creator...🤷‍♀️..been on my own before - its less noise & u really can talk to just GOD with a clearer head..This of course is me but over the years I have come to feel sometimes a break away brings u closer..

They had 5 big TV screens with Trump. They had a gift shop selling Trump stuff. My husband was so pissed, he got up and left. If churches support a candidate, they should lose their tax exemption.

They can try to hide that there is no list but we all know he's on that list. He was with Epstein with underage girls and the way he talks about women. Please. Its all there. Stop trying to protect this man, what power does he really hold? Honestly none. Why people are scared of him and hold him as if he is the greatest is beyond me. This is a prime example of what happens when you have money, you think you are above everything and everyone. And when people should be telling him no instead of yes. Everyone in his regime needs to stop kissing this man's ass like he is a big deal.

From John Bonifaz, a Constitutional Attorney & President of “Free Speech For People”:

There needs to be a case for IMPEACHMENT against Donald J Trump BUILT NOW, in light of all the multiple abuses of power that this president has committed since taking the oath of office again.

The framers understood we would not have any monarch or any tyrant govern this nation. We were to be a nation led by the people through a democracy and they put in the constitution clear guard rails with respect to ensuring there would NOT be a monarch or a tyrant:

Article I, establishing the United States Congress;

Article II, establishing the Presidency;

Article III, establishing the Judiciary.

Three co-equal branches of government.

But they also put in an extra guardrail. and that guard rail is the impeachment clause, Section 4 of article2. And that is what we must invoke today; no Kings in America, no monarchs in America. Donald Trump must be impeached and removed from office.

For the skeptics about this being the proper time now to impeach Trump;

1. We either have a Constitution or we don’t. We either have an impeachment clause or we don’t. We either have a democracy or we don’t.

If we are not going to invoke the impeachment clause at this present time when this president has so trampled upon the Constitution and the rule of law, we might as well give up on the Constitution.

2. We NORMALIZE this conduct, these crimes. We normalize them when we don’t name them for what they are. They are high crimes against the state. That is what an impeachment offense is.

3. Members of Congress take the same oath that Donald Trump did on January 20, 2025 to defend and protect the Constitution. They have a duty to protect and defend the Constitution in the face of this lawlessness coming out of this White House.

There are 19 grounds for impeachable offenses that can be found on:

impeachtrumpagain.org

If you don’t like those, you can add your own.

What you can’t do is stay on the sidelines in the face of this march to tyranny.

You have to stand up and abide by your oaths. If you don’t, YOU are part of the problem.

Those in Congress who were not standing with the Constitution [ when they voted to table Congressman Green’s ] are part of the problem.

If Congress were to do it’s duty and impeach Donald Trump, then the next person in line for the office would know that they’re next if they engage in those kind of abuses of power.

1. If we as a country have gone about enforcing the rule of law, enforcing the Constitution against this lawlessness, then the next person coming into the White House, who does the same thing would need to face the same kind of proceeding.

2. if JD Vance were to become president of the United States and he’s already committed abuse of power, then he’s too should replace face impeachment and removal proceedings.

There are certainly others in his administration that have colluded with him, conspired with him, to attack our Constitution, to attack our democracy, to attack the other co-equal branches of government and ought to be held accountable.

Here’s the list of lawmakers who voted either for or against Rep. Green’s recent impeachment resolution (remember, AYE is the bad vote, to table the resolution and NAY the good one),

Each day, I think it can't possibly get worse — and then it does. Not by accident, but by design. Because we're dealing with people who thrive on the suffering of others. Who see cruelty as strategy and injustice as sport.

But I find solace in this:

I will not be one of them.

I will not stay silent.

I will not be remembered as someone who stood by while others were dehumanized.

When history looks back, I’ll be on the side that chose compassion over complacency.

I’ll be someone my family can be proud to claim — not a name they have to whisper or explain away.

That’s how I sleep at night.

Not with peace, but with purpose.

Talk about the "crime in the cities"? The Trumpers have incited more criminals to create the very problem they use as a political wedge issue. Stats show clearly that on a per capita basis, there is far more crime in rural areas.
