I just did a deep dive on Wikipedia on Pete Hegseth. He's portrayed and joked about as a drunk, but I had no idea that he had assaulted so many women. He is really a danger around women. He had five affairs in four years in his first marriage, leading to divorce at that point. Since then, he has had repeated sexual assaults, none ever charged because he either paid them off or the charges were mysteriously dropped. One woman was allegedly (with witnesses) drugged and raped.

i agree and was equally appalled. i think what i *was* surprised about, but maybe should not have been, was how widespread it was. i think the culture of money, power + privilege truly led to many believing they were above and beyond the law and the "niceties" (read, empathy) of fellow humanity. this cracking of that facade is incredibly important and i hope it continues so that we can follow the money, uplift the survivors and kill the roots (and plants) of this behaviorial evil.

I just did a deep dive on Wikipedia on Pete Hegseth. He's portrayed and joked about as a drunk, but I had no idea that he had assaulted so many women. He is really a danger around women. He had five affairs in four years in his first marriage, leading to divorce at that point. Since then, he has had repeated sexual assaults, none ever charged because he either paid them off or the charges were mysteriously dropped. One woman was allegedly (with witnesses) drugged and raped.
Pete Hegseth is as much of a sexual predator as any of the others, except with adult women. He proudly proclaims his origins as "Norwegian" and loves the Crusades and a "holy war." Definitely NOT the person we want as Sec. Defense right now.
We should have know immediately when he tried to change the name to "Secretary of War." It's time to re-investigate this creep, people!

I believe you are correct... one of many needed points to be addressed is the US education system which could help with some of that ignorance - an exposed inquisitive mind has the option to review and consider in a bird's eye view circumstance - see a repetitive history and make decisions that work outside of the realm of survival and ignorance
