Good news story for you Jamie:

3 Simple Words, By Guinea Pig Lover

My school go's from kinder-garden to 6th grade. I am a 6th grader. Because of that, the younger kids look up to me and my fellow classmates. This is the story about when I used my power to make a kid feel empowered: One day, some of my friends and I, were walking to our lunch period. We were a little late, so the halls were empty.

Then a little disabled boy (he needs a walker to walk) in kinder garden, comes from the elevator with his guide. We were taught to let those kids go first, so while we waited, his guide told us he (the boy) refers to himself as "Fast Freddy" and then the guide asked “Fast Eddy” to show us how fast he can go.

"Fast Freddy" put a smile on his face and went as fast as he can go. Without thinking, I said "he's so fast" then as if by magic, That little boy's smile got wider and he went even faster! Next his guide gave me a thumbs up and they went wherever they had to go, and so did we. I said 3 simple words that brightened some ones day. 3 simple words!

That’s awesome!! Keep up the wonderful work! Other kids need a positive role model like you to brighten their day!! 👏👏👏

You are one smart and very articulate young man with a beautiful heart! ❤️. Don’t ever let anyone take that greatness away from you! I hope to see you running for president of these United States 🇺🇸 one day!!

My best news today, is my best guy friend has been in bed since the day before Christmas. So sick. We live next door to one another, and I have bring him soup, liquid IV, and today brought him great protein powder and milk. He's still super weak (71 years old). But feels better today. Even though I got a flu shot, but still wearing an N95 mask. And scrub my hands with soap and water. Bleach my doorknob. So grateful He's doing better.

I wish I was your neighbor. Your kindness is inspiring.

I successfully subscribed to be with other ARMY members when concert tickets go on sale for ARMY members next week. Great news is anytime I'm able to score a ticket to a K-pop or Mandopop idol. And BTS IS THE BEST

Judy Robinson's avatar

Good for you, Carole! I remember my father’s joy at reuniting with various army buddies and caring about their families through many years. I also treasure the kindness of a particular army buddy of his when my father was in his last years. What treasures! They are all gone now, but the gifts of bonds and friendships live forever.

Aaron, you are the best. You are the only subscription that I pay for as I'm really strapt for money these days. I share your news although I only use Facebook. Thank you for all that you do.

My good news is I went for a mile walk, came home and cooked dinner! I am fortunate I am as healthy as I am and can move like I do at age 78!

So happy for all this GOOD NEWS. We are having another snow day here. Everything looks like a picture. It certainly makes me smile. Everyone stay safe out there. I do believe there will be some wonderful breaking NEWS this week.

From your lips to the Holy One's ears Kathy.

It is so wonderful to see smiles of people of any age, and I know the kind of joy you both witnessed and felt!

Genuine smiles of goodness and kind, sincere comments do make the world go around with peace and joy, and they feed people’s happy emotions, confidence, and appreciation of others forward. I wish everybody could feel that.

I really needed this! Thank you!

Sometimes, maybe MOST times, it takes so little to make a HUGE difference in someone else's life. Good on you, Guinea Pig Lover!!!

I love just seeing the words “GOOD NEWS”-it’s a moment of calm 🥰

And it's an affirmation that people are inherently GOOD 😊

They are walking through my home town (growing up), Thomasville, NC, today. Last Wednesday, we got to walk with them on another rainy, yucky day, in my new location and retirement home, Rock Hill, SC. I was amazed at the crowds and calm of the time with them.

The only disturbance was a guy driving the other direction, slowing down, lowering his window and shouting, "Jesus is the only way for redemption". I'm not sure they heard it but it was an embarrassment.

Some people don't understand that Buddhism isn't a religion, it is a Practice. One can be Christian and still practice Buddhism.

HHappy One's avatar

It is a ‘practice’. Could call it a religion. Buddha never claimed to be a god. It’s rare that someone practicing Buddhism would also participate in a ‘religion’. The practice—calm, serenity, doing things for the betterment of others, plant based living, being selfless, etc, are goals. Racism is not part of the practice. Most ‘religions’ espouse to kindness, etc but in practice of worship of a god, it fails to follow Buddhism.

Sandra Bissex's avatar

Thanks for this clarification❣️

Susan M. Zimmerman's avatar

I did not know that! Thank you for explaining. Jesus is the only one who can truly judge a person's heart. He doesn't look at religion. He looks at whether you have love towards others in your heart.

Kathy Santoro's avatar

That’s so great! Idk how I didn’t know they were in SC about an hour from me I heard about it from NPR when they had already left. 🙏 Namaste!

Susan's avatar

The monks and their sweet dog are an inspiration.

Judy Robinson's avatar

Hooray! I just watched the site and am so happy for them. Thank you, Aaron for sharing it!

Patrice Curedale's avatar

I'm jealous! Very unBuddhist, I know, but I have spent some time around Tibetans in Western China, and the monks are so full grounded and full of joy and compassion, in spite of terrible treatment by the Chinese government. Even young men. I aspire to their level of detachment and awareness. I recommend "The Art of Happiness" for an intro to the philosophy that creates this peace and joy in service. It's interviews with the Dalai Lama (whom I have seen in person, and he is so much like the young monks, but can also transform a giant theater full of non Buddhists into this state of grace single handedly, quietly, and with a smile. The book is written by an American psychiatrist, who plays the role of doubting Thomas, contrasting our Western view of Happiness with the Tibetan view, which sees it as attainable and sustainable.

I pick it up and read it often. Maybe I should just make my way to DC!

Sugarboo2022's avatar

Nice!!! I wish they were closer to Arizona! I’ll just have to visit their monastery in Fort Worth Texas one of these days!

Jane Burke's avatar

I’m going to see them in Raleigh with my daughter. Flying out on Tuesday to see them on Saturday. My soul is already smiling

Jamie Wolf's avatar

Currently they are in Greensboro, NC

HHappy One's avatar

In Lexington, looks like 29, for their lunch stop@ First Lutheran Church. Their route to and stop for the night in Thomasville is Business 29 (I would call it ‘old 85’) getting off and going in town on Lexington Ave, to Salem St by the big chair, up 109 to the night’s stop, Grace Lutheran on Unity St. They will have an open house 6-9 this evening.

The planned route does change but that’s where they will be tonight.

Living in Minneapolis, I need some good news. So could you look for some that isn’t just about you? I don’t mind hearing your personal success news, but I also need broader topic of good news.

My good news is that people around the Twin Cities (Minneapolis-St Paul and surrounding suburbs; and ICE is everywhere including the suburbs) are coming together all over for mutual aid. We’re helping families who are terrified to leave their homes (even those LEGALLY here). And friends and family around the world have been sending personal donations to help out.

Christine Boggini's avatar

The video doesn’t have the the good news report. Scroll down. The Good News report is written below the video.

Minneapolis is an inspiration to us all. Stay strong. What can we do from afar to help??

I’m sure they’ll be swarming Denver soon so we are watching and praying for you all.

❤️🛷 MINNEAPOLIS: Cold, Wind and Ice didn’t stop at least 500 Minnesotans from attending the Powderhorn Art Sled Rally Saturday afternoon — and the annual display of “creativity and carnage” had both the Kool-Aid Man and plenty of sleds referencing the city’s current political climate. Sledders built a giant wrecking ball that knocked down bowling pins named after political figures, such as Pres. Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, while others created giant bottles of “De-ICEr” or “Love Melts Ice” hearts.

PLUS: Chicken jockey! Giant penguin! A horse you could actually ride down the hill! And so much more — check out our stories for extra ones we couldn’t include.

Just watched a video. Absolutely amazing, such fun!!!

bluebird's avatar

I agree and hats of to those wonderful people .

We are all with you and are grateful for your fortitude and courage.

Do you follow Steve Schmidt? He wrote a beautiful and powerful tribute to Minnesota folks yesterday ("Thank you, Minnesota") describing how the country was saved thanks to the 1st Minnesota at the Battle of Gettysburg by a decision made in literally seconds. I am sure it is a story you know well, but it is one I just learned, and I am so grateful to know it....good people are doing good things every day that we do not see but that are making the difference between the survival of the United States and its demise. You are one of those people.

Thinking of you From NJ. You have to believe that this too shall pass. What else do we have if it’s not the power of positive thinking and manifestation. They are already in New Jersey as we speak . Thinking of you, praying for you.

It's really been very inspiring to see the community coming together like that. I hope it inspires other communities across the country to do the same!!

Sending love and care from California. We are so impressed and so proud of Minnesotans. (I also donated to Minnesota food banks to try to help.) Stay strong and know that we support you.

Bonnie Kittredge's avatar

yes, keep scrolling... there is so much good news from Aaron Parnas's column today.

G B's avatar

Aaron I just read the wired article about CHORUS are you going to address this I can't speak for everyone but personally I want you to give your side of the story but right now I'm upset. In your ask for paid subscribers you say if you want news that isn't being SOLD please subscribe. This a quote from you in the article “I don’t feel strongly about pushing tbh,” Aaron Parnas, a Gen Z news influencer who has been called the Gen Z Walter Cronkite and has been lauded in legacy media outlets, posted to the chat. “They aren’t going to modify it anymore. Seems like a take it or leave it.” (Parnas declined to comment.) on restrictions of your content in the contract

Jenn Kaylor's avatar

What are you referring to? Your comment is a bit confusing to me.

BD's avatar

Stay encouraged as this is not the end of of freedom. Many people are in your corner for the oppression to stop!!!🙏🙌

We are with everyone and you in Minnesota Erin. I pray for your resilience, safety, and kindness.

To whom/where do we send donations $$ to help? I sit in red, red Texas and we are "inoculated" by our "loyal" to Dear Leader gov and other insipid leadership.

Good morning, everyone! My good news is that I woke up today. I’m afraid that’s as good as it gets right now, and I have to take my wins where I can.

I got my dream job! I start tomorrow! Aaron, you are fantastic and I watch all of your videos because they are always on the money with your updates and I appreciate getting it in 8 minute increments and not 45 minute segments! CONGRATULATIONS ON THE GROWING SUBSTACT! You definitely deserve it! 💯 👊🏻💪👏🎉💙

Well my blood pressure is lower because of media fasting for a day.

I also did laundry AND folded it!!!

Mel J's avatar

AND FOLDED??!!! Great job!!!

Bethe57's avatar

The $64,000 question….after folding, did you put it all away? 😇😊 I'm impressed, that folding part. 👏

Molly Cook's avatar

Folding it is key! And it's ever so easy to procrastinate. Doing laundry as we speak. Hope you've given me inspiration to see it through. LOL

Ann Murphy's avatar

Folding clothes and trimming hedges are both very calming.

Good morning, Aaron!! Happy good news day!! I need some good news!

My good news: no Coffee malfunction for me! ☺️ For my own health, both physical, and mental; because anxiety is at an all time high, I subscribed to a couple You tube channels to learn Tai Chi and QiGong. I highly recommend, even though I’m not too good yet, I can tell it’s really helping!🪷

Judy Robinson's avatar

Thank you, Deitrior! I’m happy for you and will look for those. I know some people it might help.

Good news: my oldest son - my 35-year old son - and his wife, flew down to Texas from Chicago to spend Thursday, Friday. Saturday and Sunday with us for his 35th birthday and for my daughter’s baby shower (I’m going to be a grandad!!!). That is major good news, at least for me and their mom

Mary Lou Condike's avatar

You are the good news that happened to me this morning. Thank you for your dedication to the truth!

Jamie Hill's avatar

Good news is so important. Knowing when the courts side with the constitution is important for our mental health. Hearing how local governments are going after ICE helps me believe in community. So thx for reminding us to look for good news. Be well. A blue dot in TN.

Stephanie's avatar

Thanks for this break especially now. My good news is that I am sleeping through the night thanks to my new routine of disconnecting 1 hour before bed. It was hard but it was worth it.

Linda Baldassare's avatar

That s something I have to try ! Terrible time sleeping !!

Judy Robinson's avatar

Sing or hum something, have a cup of warm tea maybe an hour before going to bed and be sure you are nice and warm. Read or recite a sweet poem. Day dream on a beautiful, peaceful place you know of, remember, or would like to visit or revisit, or that you imagine. You can go there anytime in your mind. Think of three good things even if you need to stretch it or be very simplistic about it.

You can feel better and snuggle into the covers with a smile. Think of any of the good things you or people have shared or good things anytime in your life or the lives of people you love. I hope you will feel comforted and will sleep beautifully!

Jocelyn Moroney's avatar

Thank you - i needed to hear that.

Robot Bender's avatar

I'm so glad! I had to start doing that, too. What do you do after you stop? Hobby? Reading? Music?

Stephanie's avatar

Read a non-work related book. I love historical history and historical fiction books. I also love crime stories and thrillers. I try to keep those to my days off.

Linda Baldassare's avatar

Jp4m Thank you for your help , the warm part I can’t do because I like chilly living in SW Florida ( the 7th ring of hell ) our temps now are normal with little humidity YAY !!!
