Good News … Our ARMY enlisted son got home from deployment.

BookNerd56💟's avatar

Yay 🙌🎉thank him for his service and enjoy your time together 🫡🇺🇸

Don Buckter's avatar

Service is a commitment that doesn’t require the wearing of a uniform. ❤️🇺🇸

Don Buckter's avatar

Will do. Am doing. Thanks!

Crimson Boudoir's avatar

I had to go to a childhood friend’s funeral. Taken by Drugs and alcohol. I am sober almost 20 years and was able to truly support her family, her cousin , one of my other childhood friends. Sobriety! Good News!

Judy Robinson's avatar

That is wonderful! Have a happy, precious time together!

Don Buckter's avatar

Thanks. We are all of us in this together. “Service” takes many forms.

Don Buckter's avatar

We are all in this together. Service is a concept and a commitment. It doesn’t require wearing a uniform.

Don Buckter's avatar

🇺🇸👏🫡✌️ Thank you.

Joe Willis's avatar

Enjoy your time together. I thank him for his service and he is not a sucker or loser.

Don Buckter's avatar

Whoever would label any vet a sucker just doesn’t understand what life, love, and respect are about. Thank you. All best. Don

Harmony's avatar

Such great news! I’m so happy for you and your son and I’m so grateful for his service!

Don Buckter's avatar

Harmony. Thanks. I had no idea my post would generate so many responses. All lovely BTW. I’m thanking our son for his service by responding to each and every one of them. 💪🏻🇺🇸

Sue McAulay's avatar

How awesome! Bless him. ❤️🤍💙

John Swimmer's avatar

Let’s move them up to #2

Don Buckter's avatar

I like #2 too. Better than #1 even. #2 “tries harder” it’s been advertised. Aaron is one of the hardest working in his field. I’m proud to support him be he #1, #2, or #22.

Don Buckter's avatar

Thanks. Stay curious, Curious.

DANA POWERS's avatar

Love all of these. I was honored to serve food to many this week. It’s the little things, my friends. It’s the little things.

On November 5th last year, I told my husband we were selling everything and moving to Portugal.

He said no.

I chose to spend 3 months alone here in Portugal as my backup plan. I have 1 week left of volunteering at a cat shelter.

I love the people, the no guns, the community of Estoril.

But I miss home. The USA is worth fighting for. Im coming back with resolve. Alot has changed since I left on Sept 3rd. The time is now.

Lets do it!

Bonnie Ferguson's avatar

Thanks for coming back! We need you to fight with us!

Marta's avatar

Nice. We went to Ballet of Reflections 🥰

BookNerd56💟's avatar

It’s good news to see all of these nice posts🙌 Thank you for sharing and making me smile 😊

Is it just me?? I can never “comment” on Aaron’s videos; only “reply”. And I’m not sure what I’m responding to 😳 TIA for any assistance ☮️💟

Bob Di's avatar

Where it says "Discussion about this video", just above the Comments, on my screen is a box containing the text "Write a comment..." If you have that, it ought to make a comment.

I am not special. I lobbed a few dollars at Aaron via Venmo, but there is a Subscribe button, so I gather I am not privileged.

BookNerd56💟's avatar

My iPhone screen doesn’t have what you’re describing 🫤 I’ll dig in deeper. Thanks for the info, though 😊 I’m retired and live frugally. I like many of the other independent podcasters, but decided to subscribe to Aaron as he’s always the first with breaking news🙌 That’s all I can afford 😩 Try hitting the orange “subscribe” and see what it does. I subscribe to others and you can do “free” or sign up for a “paid subscription”. I’m not 💯% sure if I’m right about that or not 🤑

Louise Purfield-Coak's avatar

You have to be a paid subscriber to comment. Under that orange subscribe button is a heart symbol and the word like, next to it is a symbol that looks like a dialog box in a cartoon. If you touch that, it opens a comment blank box, with a flashing cursor. Then you can start writing your comment. From one non techie oldster to another. At least that is how I do it by email on my Kindle Fire Tablet. I am a low income senior too.

BookNerd56💟's avatar

Thanks for the guidance😊 I’m a subscriber and got it figured out with your instructions 🙌 Us “old farts” CAN figure things out if we stick together and collaborate‼️ Wishing you a GREAT day ☮️💟

Louise Purfield-Coak's avatar

Oh, your welcome. You have a great day also.

Congratulations 🎊 Aaron Parnas! Your diligence and hard work has paid off. Excellence in reporting isprevalent.

My good news is I am going to be a grandma for the 3rd time. Can’t wait.

Susan's avatar

I’m going to see my first grandson today. He’s seven months old and I can’t stop kissing him and telling him how much I love him!

Brielle's avatar

My good news is bringing smiles to everyone I see! In a time where we are all so stressed, a simple smile can change the trajectory of someone’s day! Be kind! Love heals! Thank you Aaron!

Sandra Wallace's avatar

If I'd known that grandchildren were so great, I'd have had them first!

I can now see without glasses after having to wear them for over 60 years. Had cataract surgery with LASIK. My eyes are leaking, I keep looking for my glasses (hahahaha), but I CAN SEE clearly, and more light is shining from my eyes. Yay!

Robot Bender's avatar

I know that feeling! Isn't it amazing? I still try to push up my glasses once in a while, and I had my lenses replaced several years ago. 🙃 I had cataract and lens replacement surgery. I went from 20/400 to 20/20.

KingRayVet's avatar

Man, I don't even know what my vision was before the surgeries. I had to take my prescription glasses out of my man-cave, but reach out for them on occasion. Then I stop and realize I can see and start laughing at my silly self. 😆😂😆 Just got the left eye done 2 weeks ago, so plenty of drops are going into both for a while and I see black dots like bugs are flying around me. That goes away in a couple weeks; well, it did for the right eye.

Robot Bender's avatar

I was legally blind without my glasses. I couldn't see the optometrist's wall, much less the eye chart! I didn't realize he was putting in corrective lenses, so I was speechless when I realized he had.

KingRayVet's avatar

Oh, my eyes weren't close to that bad. I was married to a woman who was legally blind and she got that surgery in her 40's. A whole new life for her. You'd probably believe how bad it was. I would NOT let her drive ME around. 🤣

Robot Bender's avatar

I was one of those kids who had Coke bottle lenses in my glasses from about First Grade on.

KingRayVet's avatar

Yeah, so did my ex-wife. Unreal. So did 2 of my cousins, both sisters. My ex wore contacts, so I didn't know she was that blind until I saw her some months after we started dating with her glasses on. I was like, "Uh oh!" or "Rut roh!" 😂😂😂🐕

Sue McAulay's avatar

Same, but from 2nd grade on.

Kelley Rose's avatar

How is your close up reading? Do you need readers to read I guess is what I'm asking, lol.

Robot Bender's avatar

I use readers, which is a minor thing compared to what I've gained. Or I hold the print about 2 feet away. 😆

Kelley Rose's avatar

I'm deciding on this, but I feel like I'm trading one pair of glasses for another. My distance vision is 20/450 and I take off my glasses and can read perfectly. Am I trading my distance vision for needing to wear reading glasses...decisions decisions 🤔

Robot Bender's avatar

I used to like it because I had a very fiddly hobby. Built in magnifiers! I had to quit because my hands started to shake too much, plus my cataracts were getting bad enough to be a problem.

KingRayVet's avatar

It is. Thank you so much.

I got a job!! After 16 months of unemployment, and over 1000 applications and resumes submitted - I got a job! As a black woman in technology..in this era of awful.. LITERALLY A miracle. Thanks for sharing the good news Aaron!

KingRayVet's avatar

That's awesome. It was my career too, sista!!! I'm retired now. Go get that papah. 😁😂

Lolly Winston's avatar

I used to live in Silicon Valley (engineer husband), and black women are so underrepresented in tech. You GO!

Candy C's avatar

That is awesome!! Huge congratulations! I’ve been out of work since mid August, so I understand your joy. I hope you love your new position!

Julie's avatar

Congratulations!! Your persistence is truly impressive! You are going to do great!

The market is a bear! Its never taken me more than 4 months to find a job in IT even in 2009! Since moving to a new state ive been looking for 10 months and nothing! Ive had probably 4-5 interviews in all that time. The market is a pooch!

You did awesome!!!

Pam Price's avatar

You go, Shaunda! Have an awesome new time at your new job!

I cooked and filled my freezer with meals for leaner times

Terri's avatar

Good thinking. I am veggie so stocking up on Amy’s canned soups, mostly because easy and a healthy addition to meals. Shopping around more these days. Love Amy’s lentil, split, pea, and mushroom bisque!

Sally Russell's avatar

Try Amy’s French Country Vegetable soup. So good!

Terri's avatar

I’m sure it is, but I don’t do well with tomatoes, unfortunately. A lot of the good ones have tomato in them lol!

The Oregon Morrigan's avatar

It’s just wonderful to see you smile! You work so hard and so often your face shows a weariness and a sadness about everything that’s going on. You’re essentially reporting from the front lines and I’m sure it’s exhausting. So congratulations on your success and thank you for being there.

Amy Gilbert's avatar

Lovely post, Darlene. I feel exactly the same way and try hard to post encouraging comments to Aaron often. Front lines is exactly right! And I notice too how tired and shell shocked he looks some days. We see you Aaron and we are so grateful for your work and sacrifice! ❤️

Jrobbins's avatar

Yes! The stress must be exhausting! We appreciate you!! We know you are telling it as it is rather than tRumps lies!! Take care!!

Cherae Stone's avatar

And such a SWEET smile. Warms my heart.

Christine's avatar

What Darlene said! Thank you!

joined the 50s club on Friday!

Terri's avatar

Happy birthday! 50 was a fun one for me. I did a special trip to my favorite childhood spot in Ocean City, New Jersey, and found the most amazing shells after a storm. I wanted it to be memorable and it certainly is. I hope you have a day that is supremely special.

Susan Martell's avatar

Hello Aaron, thank you for the good news update. I am so amazed that bumblebees know how to use Morse Code. They probably have a different name for it because they have been using it for probably millions of years.

Ashley's avatar

Happy birthday!!!!

Grace's avatar

my good news is my dads cancer tumors have shrunk 75%!!!!

Terri's avatar

Awesome! This is wonderful news.

Barbara Christianson's avatar

I truly appreciate the good news. All the sad, cruel & disappointing news takes a toll. I need to hear it, but still it wears on my heart. My good news is that my son who was attacked by a mentallly unstable stranger while having lunch in a Dairy Queen and suffered a severe skull fracture & brain bleed has fully recovered after 3 months and is returning to work. We feel so blessed.

Sue McAulay's avatar

Great news that he's recovered!

Bridget's avatar

I am our agency's representative for a holiday program for foster children, and this year more than 60% of our staff has committed to supporting their wishes this year!

Terri's avatar

That’s fabulous!

Rebecca's avatar

Yayyyy!!! I would not know what to do without this subset !!

Jo Ann Easterling's avatar

Me either. I love the way Aaron presents the news without a spin. When he’s going to give his thoughts or opinions, he states it’s his thoughts or opinions. He doesn’t weave his thoughts or opinions into the news stories, to put his spin on it as “the real fake news” on TV does constantly.

I am so utterly amazed and thankful for a journalist, like Aaron, who has morals and values. He makes the Sunday morning news about positive news stories, helping us to reflect on the positive things in our lives. What a great way to encourage people to start the week, in the mindset, of being grateful and thankful.

Thank you, Aaron. Keep up the amazing work you do everyday. I appreciate it and look forward to all your news posts.
