MAGA Renews Calls for my Arrest

MAGA renews calls for my arrest overnight, cops admit they wrongly arrested a 19 year old in Georgia who now faces deportation, Qatar's gift to Trump is in Texas, and Trump arrives in Saudi Arabia

Good morning, everyone. I woke up today to yet another wave of online attacks, with critics doubling and even tripling down on my arrest—for doing nothing more than sharing accurate, timely news. One of the most prominent commentators is once again urging Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate me, while others are openly calling for my imprisonment.

The moment they silence me is the moment they win, and I will not let them. I can only continue doing this work with your support. Help me fight back. Subscribe today:

With that, here’s the news:

  • Although charges against 19-year-old Dalton State student Arias-Cristobal were dropped, she was still taken into ICE custody after a traffic stop and remains detained, raising concerns about her immigration status. Her family says she has lived in Georgia since age 4 but couldn’t apply for DACA because the program had ended. Now held at Stewart Detention Center, she faces possible deportation and has a bond hearing scheduled for next week.

  • Trump says he’s accepting a super-luxury jet from Qatar’s ruling family this week, currently located at San Antonio International Airport and possibly being considered as a temporary Air Force One.

  • Trump is traveling to Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar — three Middle Eastern countries where his company has had real estate projects in the works.

  • When President Trump arrived in Saudi Arabia, he was greeted by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, not King Salman. Unlike Trump's first visit, the King was absent this time, having not appeared in public for almost two years due to his age—he is 89.

  • The U.S. has approved a weapons deal worth over $1.4 billion with the United Arab Emirates, just days ahead of President Trump's visit. The sale includes $1.3 billion for Chinook helicopters and $130 million for F-16 jet parts and support, according to the State Department.

  • During a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, President Trump praised him as “very wise” and emphasized their strong personal and diplomatic relationship. Trump called the visit an “honor” and highlighted the crown prince’s role as a key ally and mediator in efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The meeting reflected both leaders’ push to strengthen U.S.-Saudi ties, even as MBS continues to rebuild his international image following the 2018 murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

  • Top Trump administration officials are set to be in Turkey this week for anticipated Ukraine-Russia peace talks on Thursday, but President Trump's participation is still uncertain and may depend on whether Russian President Vladimir Putin attends. Trump said he’s considering going if it would help the negotiations, adding that the talks could produce “a good result.” A senior official noted the situation is still fluid, and Trump's potential presence has increased pressure on Putin. Ukrainian President Zelensky has confirmed he will attend the meeting, which was originally suggested by Putin and later promoted by Trump.

  • Progressive commentator Hasan Piker said he was stopped and questioned by U.S. Customs agents at Chicago O’Hare after returning from France, specifically about his views on Donald Trump and Israeli war policy. He shared on his Twitch stream that he was held in a private room for nearly two hours and believes the experience was meant to intimidate and discourage political speech. Despite the incident, Piker said it won’t stop him from speaking out.

  • Edan Alexander won’t be traveling to Qatar to meet President Trump because of his health condition. Instead, he’ll speak with the president by phone and plans to meet him at the White House in a few weeks.

  • The DNC credentials committee approved a resolution disputing the February 1 vice chair elections of David Hogg and Malcolm Kenyatta. The issue will move to the full DNC for review, but both Hogg and Kenyatta will remain in their positions for now. The vote was 13 in favor, 2 against, and 3 abstentions.

  • U.S. inflation dropped to 2.3% in April, marking its lowest level since 2021. This signals continued cooling in consumer prices after a period of high inflation following the pandemic.

  • On the first day of the case, Diddy’s lawyer acknowledged he committed domestic abuse. The key issue now is whether Combs created and maintained a system to carry out and cover up predatory actions that could amount to racketeering.

  • Republican Rep. Nick LaLota of New York said the GOP’s current tax bill is “dead on arrival,” criticizing the party’s lead tax writer for pushing forward with a proposal on a major deduction without enough support. He accused the effort of being made in “bad faith.”

  • A power struggle has broken out within the ‘Make America Healthy Again’ movement, involving serious accusations between Peter Gillooly, CEO of The Wellness Company, and Calley Means, a top adviser to HHS Secretary RFK Jr. The two have accused each other of threats, conflicts of interest, and leaking false info to far-right activist Laura Loomer. The feud is drawing wider attention, especially as Calley Means' sister, Casey Means, was recently nominated by Trump to be the next surgeon general.

See you this evening.
