1) Putin Threatens Poland
In a televised address overnight, Vladimir Putin issued a veiled threat to Poland. He stated: "The Western territories of today's Poland are a gift of Stalin to the Poles. Our friends in Warsaw forgot about it, we'll remind them." Putin further accused Poland of having increased “territorial ambitions” on the territory of the former USSR, and that any aggression against Belarus would be considered an aggression against Russia.
During this same time, Poland announced that it will be moving troops further to the east as the threat from the Wagner Group in Belarus steadily increases. While making his veiled threats, Putin conveniently forgets that Stalin captured Poland in 1939, slaughtered thousands of Polish residents, and occupied the country until 1989. In any event, tensions are rising this morning between the two countries, and this situation is one worth keeping an eye on.
2) Russia Targets Grain Supply
Overnight, Russia continued its attacks on grain supply in Ukraine. After pulling out of the Black Sea Grain Deal, and threatening civilian ships entering Ukrainian ports, Russia launched a major attack, with at least seven missiles, targeting grain warehouses in the southern port city of Odesa. This is the fourth straight night Russia has targeted Odesa. As a result of Russian attacks, tons of crops were destroyed, and a warehouse suffered significant damage. According to local reporting, 100 tons of peas and 20 tons of barley were destroyed. Two people were hurt due to the attack as well.
3) Ron DeSantis, Tied for Second, Calls for a Lawsuit into Bud Light’s Parent Company
Ron DeSantis has continued his war on “wokeness” by targeting Bud Light’s parent company, Anheuser-Busch InBev. Governor DeSantis is urging Florida’s pension fund manager to consider potential legal action against the company due to the backlash associated with its marketing efforts. According to a letter obtained by CNN, DeSantis asserts that the company “breached legal duties owed to its shareholders” by associating with “radical social ideologies.”
Although Bud Light’s sales have suffered, so have Ron DeSantis’ prospects for the White House. A new poll released yesterday shows that DeSantis is now tied for second place with Vivek Ramaswamy, another Republican candidate for President.
4) Indonesia Launches Crypto Exchange
