There’s a chilling truth I need to share with you: it has never been more dangerous to be a journalist in the United States than it is right now.
We live in a moment where the pursuit of truth has been branded as an act of aggression. Where asking the right questions gets you labeled as a threat. Where publishing uncomfortable facts makes you a target. The people in power aren’t just dismissing journalists—they’re actively working to silence us. Through intimidation. Retaliation. And fear.
I’ve felt it. I’ve lived it. And I know I’m not alone.
But here’s the other truth: I’m not stopping. I never will.
I became a journalist not to be liked, but to be honest. To shine light where others want darkness. To give voice to the people power tries to ignore. And no amount of bullying, censorship, or retaliation will stop that mission.
The pressure is real. We’ve seen journalists investigated, surveilled, pushed out of press briefings, and vilified by the very government that’s supposed to defend the Constitution. Just recently, reporters have been detained, their sources harassed, and their work dismissed as “fake” simply for holding those in power accountable.
But what scares them the most? That we’re still here.
That we’re still writing. Still publishing. Still refusing to shut up.
I know this work comes with a cost. But truth is worth it. Democracy is worth it. And if you're reading this, I know you believe that too.
If you want to help keep this work going, I invite you to become a paid subscriber. I don’t have corporate sponsors—I just have you. Your support isn’t just appreciated, it’s essential.
Because this isn’t just journalism. It’s resistance.
And I’m proud to be part of that fight—with you beside me.
Let’s keep going. Let’s keep telling the truth. No matter how loud the threats become.
