Here is a bullet point list of all the stories I covered today:

  • Inflation is heating up in America, increasing to 3%, higher than expectations. Inflation rose to 3% in the month of January, covering the last 19 days of the Biden Administration and the first two weeks of the Trump Administration.

  • Elon Musk admitted that he was likely wrong about the United States sending $50 million worth of condoms to the Gaza Strip. Instead, the condoms were sent to Gaza, a city in Mozambique, to support HIV prevention.

  • Despite inflation rising, Donald Trump is now calling for the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates. The Federal Reserve only cuts interest rates when it can ensure that inflation is falling in America. Right now, the opposite is happening. Traders now believe that despite Trump’s calls for lower rates, the Fed will wait until December to issue any more rate cuts.

  • Apple Maps has changed the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America in its application, following the lead of Google Maps.

  • The Trump Administration’s plan to forcibly relocate Palestinians from Gaza has received an icy reception from neighbors in the Middle East including Egypt and Jordan.

  • Donald Trump is taking aim at federal judges again after yet another panel of judges rejected the government’s attempt to reinstate spending cuts.

  • Donald Trump has signed a new executive order meant to drastically reduce the size of the federal workforce, which means that layoffs may be coming for many federal employees.

  • Donald Trump fired the Inspector General for USAID one day after a scathing report released showed that because of DOGE’s cuts to USAID, there was more than $489 million in food at risk of spoilage oversees.

Today is going to be an extremely busy news day. On a personal note, I am so grateful for all of you and the support that you have shown me. See you this evening for another update.
