I only wish I could identify more decent people on the other side of the aisle. When it comes to quality, you can't both sides this anymore.
It is. It's so easy to become discouraged when we see ignorant clowns hogging the spotlight and it feels like they have the upper hand. We need to seek out and pay attention to the people fighting back. I make sure to call my congresswoman when she says or does something I appreciate. Years ago I told a congressman (not mine) at a book signing that I often called my senators (both R) to bitch at them but didn't call my congresswoman (at the time the late much-missed Stephanie Tubbs-Jones) because I usually agreed with her. And he said, no, you have to call because we log our calls, emails etc so we can go on the floor of Congress and say "I got 30,000 calls in favor of this proposal and just 270 against it."

I’ve been hearing all the Republican’s hate Trump, but still suck up to him in person to avoid his rath. That seems like a dereliction of duty to me! Please vote blue, and encourage others to do so. We need a majority in Congress. Also, make sure you have a current VISA, or a valid copy of your Birth Certificate. That is especially important if you have had a name change. Probably everyone should arrive at polling place to vote with proof of USA birth or citizenship paperwork on-hand. Trump said today he will NOT sign ANY Bills, or other official paperwork, until the SAVE ACT Bill is passed.
Getting proof of citizenship can take some time, and offices will get busier as we approach the midterms. If you live in same or nearby county of birth, you can often obtain a county-based “Proof of Birth” card, directly from the County Health Department. Some counties MAY require you to go through the State’s Department of Vital Records instead.
To request a copy of your Birth Certificate—Apply on-line via YOUR BIRTH STATE’S Department of Vital Records.
