I’m so sorry for the audio issues, I’m not sure what went wrong. The article is still important so please read!

Rhoda Staff's avatar

This is an excellent article. Thank you for your reporting.

I would be very interested in an investigation of how much the ongoing upkeep, housekeeping, maintenance, supplies, utilities, entertainment, security, transportation, staffing and so forth will cost taxpayers once the ballroom is built. I also have not seen any figures of what the dollar value of the East Wing was before it was flattened. The historic value is irreplacable.

Corinne Sternlieb's avatar

I bet they don't even know. Haven't stopped to figure it out. Trump is not concerned because HE will not be paying for it.

Donald Perone's avatar

No one should be shopping at Walmart. It is a major contributor to the current neo-Nazi fascist administration. It was the first company to bring Chinese goods into the U.S. that undercut products made in the U.S. It’s low pay scale forces many of its employees to rely on federal assistance. it is an evil, anti-democratic country. Boycott it.

S. A. Linden's avatar

Have you seen the asbestos controversy yet on the demolition of the East Wing?

Carol's avatar

yes, and the "dirt" that was taken to a local golf course surely has asbestos in it!

Rhoda Staff's avatar

I have and hope someone really dives into looking at the entire mess. It does not sound like there was any proper procedure or consideration at all.

Peter Tey's avatar

Indeed, they cut corners risking the health of the workers, but in this age of BIG MONEY, the little man doesn't count, they need work to feed their families

Peter Tey's avatar

There was/is a significant concern that they were cutting corners, and risking the workers' health. But in the age of rtump and billionaires, WHO CARES ABOUT THE LITTLE MAN AT THE BOTTOM

Rhoda Staff's avatar

The indifference, incompetence, wastefulness, lack of positive goals, and spite are terrifying.

Peter Tey's avatar

Do you think it crossed his mind , even for one second ?

Like, do you think that 42 million people still are not sure if they will be fed crossed his mind for one second ?

The negative proof is the Great Gatsby party at Maralago __like Nero watching Rome burn

It isn’t a ballroom. Many of the donors are military related contractors. The DOD is in charge of the plans. An architect looked at the “plans “ and explained that the footprint of the project doesn’t match its alleged size, and even luxury building is not $3000/sq ft which was the estimated price using the cost and size figures published. The Drey Dossier on Substack provides an analysis. Speculation: it’s an underground data and control center such as was constructed by Larry Ellison in Is real.

Rhoda Staff's avatar

I saw a post with the architects conclusions, I had suspected that the bulk of the project would be a super bunker, tunnels, communications, etc. All of this is going to cost the taxpayers enormous ongoing maintenance, supplies, and staffing and as a secure area should NOT be built with private funding from the billionaire’s cabal. The ballroom sounds like a boondoggle from start to finish. There are no real public plans.

Peter Tey's avatar

Just like Hitler's bunker, only bigger and "safer", in case of a revolution

SoniaB's avatar

They went ahead and and started (and completed) the demolition before an approval was even granted. I don't think that the upkeep costs issue ever even entered their minds. This administration acts first and asks questions later. If they do at all.

DJS's avatar

It is so completely wasteful and self-indulgent. NOBODY VOTED FOR THIS.

Phillip's avatar

Think about the size of the ballroom and the cost to build it 300+ million dollars that’s $3500 a foot that’s outrageous unbelievable Building cost plus add the size of the ballroom. How many people are they having to the ball that’s way oversized for a ballroom. None of that makes any sense.

Afghan Veteran Voice's avatar

I am an Afghan veteran who stood shoulder to shoulder with American forces in Afghanistan, bravely facing terrorism. For the past four years, I have been forgotten, left in uncertainty and fear. I humbly ask my American brothers and sisters: please do not forget me. Please find a way for me and my family find safety, security, and a chance at a future. Your support could will resuce in next door of Afghanistan.

Carole Langston's avatar

Great point. As it's been pointed out there is no way to feed a conglomeration of Billionaires in the Bordello Ballroom. The existing kitchen physilities won't cut it. Imbecile!

Sue McAulay's avatar

I had those same concerns and questions!

Employing CC (Closed Captioning) works.

Ivan Quentin's avatar

My experience is that when the max speaker volume is not loud enough, closed captioning is often not provided.

Kolokia's avatar

Those are beautiful pictures of you with those wonderful people! You had a long day. I feel like I've been part of helping to make you who you are by subscribing and that I'm part of those pictures.

S. A. Linden's avatar

I had no idea that Aaron was that tall. Look at him against Obama.

DJS's avatar

Obama is 6'1" according to the internet.

S. A. Linden's avatar

I'd thought he was even taller. At least 6'3". Thanks for the info!

Kolokia's avatar

Which is probably actually accurate unlike some other claims about height. ;)

Kolokia's avatar

We always see him sitting down! :D

Dancin AimeeG's avatar

I hope they are not sabotaging you!!!

S O's avatar

Good work, but I highly recommend you insert data when you make claims, just totals would be fine, but inside links to success.

S O's avatar

Autocorrect mangled both of my replies on this thread, for clarity I meant "include links to sources".

JP4M's avatar

Thank you, and yes, I did read it. It is especially important. You present each broadcast in such a fine manner, and I look forward to them.

G B's avatar

I always read your articles they are very well written

sweetpea's avatar

Thank you, Aaron. Sleep well. You deserve it!

Sally in the Garden's avatar

The sound/your voice worked best when you faced more directly at the mic. We lost your voice when you looked toward us.

Carie's avatar

It was just a part of it. I picked up all the important news, and thank you!

S O's avatar

I'm not sure how you are revising this, but try paying nitrates, and check which encouraging formats are being used to ensure they are efficiently managed on your end and do not need to be re-encoded later.

S O's avatar

Autocorrect mangled both of my replies on this thread, for clarity, I meant "adjusting bitrates", not "paying nitrates".

Marta Simmons's avatar

The audio issues sound suspicious to me.

Jim Sampson's avatar

the Dems need a commercial on Fox News comparing prices now from a year or to ago

Anthony Rupert's avatar

The Trump administration lied? Must be a day that ends in “y“.

Patrick Thomas's avatar

Thanks Aaron! Audio is very garbled on this video :(

Make sure you keep annoying ol Mikey and tell him to do his damn job! DC office: 202-225-2777

Jedi Senshi's avatar

How about directly implying to him that his name is in the Epstein Files and that is why he won't swear in AG &/or release them?

Barbara Dillard's avatar

I’ll call Mike tomorrow. I’m sure it’s mailbox is full.

Nate M's avatar

I accidentally came across your instagram posts, your daily reporting reeled me in. Just downloaded Substack for your feed. Thank you for all that you do. Loyal follower now

Kmarie's avatar

Love the pic with President Obama.

Before I saw it I told my husband, I wish we had that President back who wore the tan suit.

Janice Darling's avatar

ai wish we had a president whose worst news day was the day he wore a tan suit. Can you remember how good it felt to have someone at the helm that you could trust? And who had good self esteem so he didn't have to slap a tariff on the person who teased him about the color of his suit....?

silversprings62's avatar

God do I miss President Obama!!!

Marta Simmons's avatar

And Michelle had the hubris to wear a sleeveless dress.👗 Horrors. God forbid. She showed those beautifully toned arms.

Janice Darling's avatar

And she laughed and they both hugged their fun kids and life felt normal. I most hate the 3am ranting tweets. Who ever thought we’d be governed by a raving unwell person whose wife sneered at living with him and whose family were out snd out leeches sucking on the life blood of the country. Infuriating.

Diane's avatar

Wow! The photo with Obama! So happy for you! If only the news wasn't so grim!!!

Kelly Mousley's avatar

A Disney family member noted that if we were to stop all private air flights it would reduce flights by 12%. Maybe a message to Sean Duffy along those lines might be warranted.

Candace Lucas's avatar

I bet all the Republican Congress members manage to get flights.

Demetria Dorame's avatar

Like Kash Patel 🙄🙄🙄 This admissions is literally kindergarteners trying to play adults; it's really pathetic. After we get through this administration, we seriously need to focus on education 🫠🫠🫠

Jamesina Hamilton's avatar

Yes,yes,yes! Especially civics !!!!!

Candace Lucas's avatar

Yes! We used to have to take civics so we understood how our government works.

Sally in the Garden's avatar

The environment would benefit with reduced flights!

Adam Stoler's avatar

he is really that stupid

to think he could lie like that

caught with his pants down

the emperor truly has no clothes

Kate Sullivan's avatar

Wow, how low can he go?? What a pathetic POS, chump is…

Pender Dave's avatar

I would love to see Arizona proportionally hold back Federal taxes for the duration of the refusal to swear in their representative.

kate roberts's avatar

Aaron!! You and Obama!?! So cool! Also Mike Johnson sucks he needs to open the government

S. A. Linden's avatar

Mike needs to open a window. He's starting to stink.

Melinda's avatar

Great picture of you and President Obama! If ever there was a case for a

"third term" he'd be my pick!

Chris Turner's avatar

The Lyin' King can spout whatever "affordability" (new word, apparently!) nonsense he likes...Americans are seeing the reality at Wal-Mart, the checkout line, and certainly the doctor's office. That's how America's Great Again, smaller dinners, generic items, and utter B.S. from our Great Leader...

Sue's avatar

I wouldn’t be surprised if they just came out with a dinner 25% less so he would have a talking point.

Haleya Priest's avatar

Walmart is republican, so I'm sure they did this as a "favor" to the king. Boycott Walmart!

.

Peter Tey's avatar

My thoughts too

WonderWoman's avatar

It's a " new word" for him..He's so stupid!

Teresa G's avatar

Aaron

My dream, to meet Obama in person.

Keep up the good work!
