Tomorrow, I’ll be giving my first-ever keynote address (!) at the Local Media Consortium summit in Arizona — a gathering of local media organizations and journalists from across the country. I’m feeling a little nervous, but mostly grateful. I wouldn’t be in this position without all of you — your support, your subscriptions, and the trust you’ve given me to keep doing this work. Truly, thank you.
This is now my full-time job. And tomorrow, I’ll be speaking about something close to my heart: the future of journalism — specifically social media journalism, and how local media can harness these tools to expand their reach and impact.
It’s going to be a whirlwind day: I’m flying to Arizona in the morning and back to D.C. in the afternoon. That’s about 10 hours in the air for 4 hours on the ground. So, if I’m quieter than usual, that’s why — but I wanted you to know what I’m up to, and to say thank you again for making this possible.
More soon (and hopefully a few photos from the road)!
One final thought, if I could record it, do you want to see it?
Start off with “breaking News, I made it here.” 🤣
Congratulations! Wishing you the very best, be safe! Yes I would really enjoy seeing & hearing you speak.
