Here Are All The Federal Programs That Could Be Impacted By Donald Trump's Freeze
Donald Trump's freeze on federal assistance will begin at 5 PM EST.
Donald Trump’s Administration has announced that a complete freeze on all federal assistance programs will begin at 5 PM EST today. This freeze will not impact programs that provide direct assistance to Americans like Social Security and Medicare. But, the freeze will impact a number of other critical programs that will impact millions of Americans. As a result, I wanted to outline all of the programs that could be impacted this evening.

With that, here is a non-exhaustive list of the federal programs that could be impacted today. This list is broad and I will provide you updates as we learn more information:
Funding for Medicaid benefits
Funding for SNAP assistance
Funding for local law enforcement to fight crime
Funding for research for childhood cancer
Funding for homeless shelters operated by non-profits
Funding for domestic violence safety programs operated by non-profits
Funding for suicide hotlines
Funding for Section 8 rental assistance
Funding for Title I education grants
Funding for temporary assistance programs for needy families
Funding for state grants for child care
Funding for Head Start
Funding for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children.
Funding for school breakfast and lunch programs
Funding for EPA grants for clean water infrastructure
Funding for Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Block Grants
Funding for foreign aid grants
Funding for clean energy projects
This list is non-exhaustive, and the Trump Administration announced that it will be excluding programs from the funding freeze on a “case-by-case” basis. We don’t yet know exactly which programs will be excluded, if any. As written, all of the above programs could be frozen as a result of this memo, which has been described as many legal scholars to be unconstitutional.
As soon as we get more information, I will let you know. If you want to support my work, the easiest way to do so is by becoming a paid subscriber today:

Talk about FAFO. I would bet the majority of his base benefit from these programs. It’s so sad when you know that most of his supporters would have benefited much more had they voted for Kamala. This is terrible.
